This was our second stay at Highview ( first was 3 years ago) and it's still fantastic. Great views, wonderful rooms and really helpful staff. We stayed in a 2 bdr which is on the top floor. The second bdr is a self contained room and was perfect for our teenagers, giving them their own space, bathroom and TV.
Especially good was the housekeeping every 3rd day, and the free wifi. Quite often in NZ you'll get charged extra for Internet access, or have it limited, so this was a very pleasant addition.
The Highview is close to town, so you can walk or drive in. Thoroughly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here with our 4 month old son after a trip to Oz and a wedding in Wanaka. We had 3 days here before heading home on a very long journey to London so we just wanted a relaxing few days in Queenstown.
We had a very modern apartment with a beautiful view of the lake. It was all much more luxurious than I was expecting and the bathroom was great. It turned quite chilly in March so we made our apartment cosy with the fire and everything was easy to use.
My husband didn't like the kitchen at all as some of the equipment wasn't great to cook with, eg a pan that everything stuck to and no draining board for washing up so though I'd mention that. (Didn't bother me though)
Location is great as it's quiet but a short walk away from the shops, cafés and bars in Queenstown. Very hilly on the way up though.
The reason I haven't awarded 5/5 is the price. Slightly expensive maybe.
Queenstown was such a chilled out, pretty little place and we had a great time. Vudu cafe was our favourite spot for coffee/lunch. Check it out http://www.vudu.co.nz

My wife and I stayed in Highview Apartments for three nights in April 2024. We reserved a one bedroom lake view. The room came fully equipped with a combination washing machine/dryer.

The internet service was reliable and included in the room price. Both of us were able to use the internet simultaneously.

The view is stunning. Unfortunately due to rain, we did not have great sunsets or sunrises. The clouds did clear up enough one day for us to see the snow on the mountains overlooking the lake.

If you don't have a car, it is a trek (3/4 to 1 mile) up hill to haul groceries. But, with a car, it was a fantastic base.

The folks in the office were helpful and booked excursions on the Dart River jetboat trip and on a return flight package to Milford Sound.

It is a great place to stay

Room Tip: The one bedroom with lake view is a large room and was a welcome place to stay after four weeks of t...

Enjoyed a longer than expected stay, however it was so comfortable, we didn't complain. The suite was lovely overlooking the lake. Amenities suited us as we like to be self sufficient, so this was excellent, fully equipped. Lovely comfortable bed, spotless and well serviced. Staff were friendly and happy to do whatever it takes to make the stay comfortable. We would stay here again. Thank you everyone for your help and service.

A great location with superb views over Lake Wakatipu. Very comfortable and well equipped. Possible to walk into Queenstown but a car is very useful. Make sure you request a lake facing room. Staff are very helpful.

We had two adjoining rooms (208a and b) as there were 4 of us and a baby. Lovely balcony overlooking the lake and mountains; the views were uninterrupted and breathtaking. Good kitchen facilities. Lovely bathrooms with heated mirror. Great lounge area. Very comfortable and cosy with a fire if required. Stayed for 3 nights. It was a little expensive but you get what you pay for. Didn't want to leave. Plenty of covered on site parking. Friendly staff. Would recommend and return.

So glad my daughter picked this apartment for us. Firstly staff are great .Few emails back & forth before our arrival, all were dealt with quickly & professionally. Thank you Julie.
Our apartment was beautiful ,modern ,warm & inviting with spectacular views of Queenstown. What a great place to have breakfast on the balcony. One thing though if you do not like to walk or are not fit the walk back to the apartments is a bit challenging. The hill is a real killer, but we loved the challenge, did it 3 times in one day once.
It was quite cold when we were there, the apartment had wonderful heating ,cosy gas fireplace, under floor heating & heated towel racks. I could image it would be so nice when it is snowing to be in a cosy warm apartment and watch the spectaculars views.

Room Tip: Select a apartment with lake views
