As an elegant lady,Sue brings the same quality into her B&B.Hope the tourists, especially the chinese tourist could enjoy their stay here.

Tip:It is ON THE HILL and the street nearby is upgrading now,so it makes me a little nervous when I drove there first time.LOL,but it is worthy.

Sue is very friendly and my room (without a view) was really comfortable and the ensuite bathroom v modern and clean. My friend had arrived before me and secured the bedroom with a view!!! Sorry ex friend :) The view from the lounge and balcony is totally stunning and a glass of wine provided by the unflappable Sue overlooking the lake and golf course was wonderful! Breakfast was substantial and plenty of home made muesli with fresh fruit and warm croissants. Can't wait to return. We walked to town every evening and back, very manageable but no disputing the uphill journey home, albeit helped by a hearty Queenstown meal.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to write a review. I hope you have enjoyed your travels in New Zealand and I also hope the England cricketers can finish with a flurry! I have been keeping an eye on the series! Please pass the word that Queenstown can provide a splendid venue for a cricket match.

Myself and 3 others stayed here for the best part of 5 weeks while on a snowboard trip to New Zealand. We rented the whole house as we were staying for so long, it was a very reasonable rate and well worth it!

When we walked in we burst out laughing because we couldn't believe our luck, the house is so spacious and just a wonderful place to be. The bathrooms are very modern and incredible showers, just what you need after a day on the hill. In the 5 weeks we were there we didn't get bored of the views from the house, amazing.

There is a drying room which was great for storing and drying ski/snowboard kit.

The house is always warm and the log burner makes it very cosy. Sue came into the house every so often to give it a clean and change sheets/towels but really respected our space and she was just the perfect host.

If you are travelling to Queenstown do not think twice about booking in here, it will make your visit, we promise!

We stayed three nights....Sue is the perfect host....close by for info and lets you alone to enjoy here home. She makes you feel like its yours. Terrific view of Queenstown and mountains. Steep walk to it, best to have a car to get there and to downtown. You'll want Lake Room.

Room Tip: Ask for the Lake Room..has the better view

We stayed here for 3 nights and congratulated ourselves on our choice of accomodation! The view from the homely sitting room and balcony and from our room (Lakes room) was absolutely stunning - I can't imagine there is a B&B with a better view in Queenstown. The uphill walk from the town is well documented but we saw it as a benefit to walk off some of those extra calories! Our room was very comfortable. Sue was very helpful whilst not wishing to be too intrusive. This place is definitely preferable to the many faceless motels in Queenstown.

Room Tip: The best view is from the Lakes room

The B&B on the Hill is a modern accommodation. We enjoyed ski-season special rates, so that was a bonus for our 3 nights there!

Sue was very accommodating, getting breakfast ready much earlier than she normally would so that we could have a meal before setting out on our full-day Milford Sound tour. We also appreciated that she left us pretty much to ourselves. She's a warm and endearing lady.

We used the washing machine and dryer for NZ$5. This was the only B&B (out of 4 we stayed during our NZ trip) that allowed us to do our laundry proper.

As The B & B on the Hill is literally as its name says, on a hill, the views are great, but guests without cars will have to be prepared to walk up steep slopes to get there. At night, it gets pretty dark in the neighborhood too, so it doesn't feel as safe walking back. Bus 11 from the town area will only stop along Frankton Road, and it's about a 10-15 min walk up from there. So, it would be best to have a car while staying here.

As a final point, we just wished there was more heating in the room and toilet. Apparently the temperature settings are fixed and we were not allowed to change it... it honestly felt like outside air temperature. It got pretty cold at night and we had to resort to using the bedside spot-lamps as make-shift heating. Not sure why the temperature cannot be adjusted.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your stay at The B & B on the Hill. The name of my B & B suggests that it is on a hill (as is much of the accommodation in Queenstown). How you find the hill depends on your feelings about walking, lots of guests enjoy the walk. I am sorry that you found it chilly at night. I do offer to change the settings on the electric radiators in the bedroom and the bathroom if guests are cold. I also detail this offer in the welcome note which guests receive. So I am not sure why the temperature in the room was not adjusted correctly for you, I do apologise that this was the case.
