Stayed here for 3 nights on a Business trip and had a room with doors that we could see the lake from. The room was spacious and so clean and looked brand new. Gas firplace creadted a great atmosphere. The rooom had 2 TVS one inthe living area and one in the bedroom area. Bathroom was sensational - double basins and a bath and a great big shower. Food at resort was great - good breakfast with lots of choice and the Bar/pub was friendly with good food and a greta outdoor area with a huge open fire. The water taxi came to the resort Jetty. Local bus came as well. Staff were great. Great experience.

We took up the opportunity of a special pre-ski rate. Glad we did, it was wickedly good. With the cold weather outside the personal; gas fire in our room was welcome indeed. Service was quick and efficient. Facilities great, view good, food excellent, staff friendly. What more could you ask?

Our family of 5 (2 adults and three children) stayed in a two bedroom residence for nine nights in July. The hotel itself was gorgeous, in a peaceful location and with all the facilities expected of Hilton. My husband is a Hilton Honours Diamond cardholder, and unfortunately even though I called the hotel direct prior to our arrival to ensure this was noted, this detail managed to escape our reservation. Also, we left a bag at the airport (travelling with kids, need I say more?) and although we were advised by staff it would be delivered, everything went a bit haywire when no-one could tell us who they had dealt with/spoken to at the airport etc bag eventually turned up but only after numerous phone calls and needless hassles. The Wakitpu Grill was lovely for dinner with a gorgeous ambience and friendly wait-staff and a great kid's menu, although hot breakfast station could do with some enhancement and better quality hot food (baked beans, deep fried hash browns - the only experience that was not 5 star) especially considering that most people are looking to fuel-up before hitting the slopes. Stacks Pub was also good although lacking any other guests both times we went which is odd considering the hotel was apparently full. Went to Eforea Spa twice, both times a winner and lovely staff. Pool was also a winner with the kids and well maintained. Brown's Ski Shop on the property was very handy and staff were excellent. The two bedroom residence was a little low on space for 5, with the extra bed having to unfortunately be placed in the lounge room, rendering this space with it's cosy fire unusable when the kids are in bed. The only other comments I would make are about the room. Although the decor was lovely, the bathroom vanity (basically an open box) let the feel of the space down with toiletry bags, hairdryers, makeup cases etc making for a very cluttered space after 9 nights. Give me a vanity with drawers please. Also, considering that most guests are likely to have ski jackets/boots etc I would have thought the interior designers might have thought about putting a few hooks on the wall inside the door and possibly a tasteful boot/shoe rack. Would certainly save on wear & tear on carpets too. Overall our stay was lovely and luxurious, would definitely recommend this property to anyone travelling to Queenstown, especially if you plan on skiing The Remarkables.

Dear 255093mumof3

Thank you for the feedback. I love to receive the constructive feedback that helps us look at how the rooms and village work for various customers. I will be holding our ski season review in October and this is the type of feedback we will use to improve the services, rooms, experience ect for next year.

We made a few adjustments to the breakfast last week and hopefully that will help take the quality up a notch.

You should try and visit in the summer, the kids will have a ball and you can relax on the balcony and watch the sun set over the lake.

Thanks again for the feedback

Kind regards

Andrew

We had an excellent stay at the hotel. It is a bit away from town and action. We were there for the weekend and had to commute to town .Options are water taxi-Reasonable cost.Taxi-Very Costly. We took the last bus to town from the hotel which is @ 8 pm,and we were off loaded from the bus because we did not have cash and the driver did not accept eftpos.
The Hotel would do good to have some complimentary transport to the city.
Be very aware of the taxi drivers from the Airport to the hotel.Pay what you see on the meter.
The hotel services were excellent. The Wakatipu grill amazing, the service and food quality is truly 5 star.

Room Tip: Buy a bus pass to commute from the hotel to the city or rent a car.

We got the relaxation room that has a view of the lake, a fireplace, and a hot tub + we did an evening at the spa in the hotel. It was just what we needed to feel pampered for a weekend. We spent most of our honeymoon in hostels and snowboarding but decided to treat ourselves to a weekend of luxury. I don't know if its standard everywhere or if it just hit us because we were playing it on a tight budget, but be aware that a $200/night hold is put on a credit card. [Might have even been written somewhere that I missed but just wanted people in our similar situation to know ahead of time.] Other than this it was an amazing stay and we were very happy with the hotel as a whole. Thank you!

Dear Misskess

Thank you for your feedback. I was pleased to read how much you enjoyed being pampered. Apologies for the $200 hold on credit cards, we have just changed the amounts as it caused a lot of upset and that is not what coming to the Hilton is about.

Come back and see us soon

Although are stay was for only one night, it was perfect from the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out. The staff were both friendly and efficient and gave us an extension on our checkout time. Every aspect of our stay went smoothly. The standard room was wonderfully spacious and well appointed, with a great gas log open fire. The meal and service at the Wakatipu Grill was great. We flew out the next day so airport access was really easy. We also managed to pop back to town in the morning for a last goodbye to magnificent Queenstown.

Prior to visiting the Hilton Queenstown, I contacted the general manager, Mr. Nesbit, as we were visiting Queenstown for a special occasion and wanted everything to be perfect. Mr. Nesbit and his operations person, Mr. Schumacher, went out of their way to make our stay excellent. From the time we arrived at the property, the staff members were friendly and seemed to genuinely want to provide wonderful service.

We had a fabulous room overlooking the lake. It was tranquil and allowed us to enjoy the lake view along with the ambient glow of the fireplace. The furnishings of the room were modern and sophisticated without being cold. The room featured the right balance between modern design, function and comfort. As a member of the Hilton HHonors program, I have been to a good number of Hilton properties, and I must say that the Hilton Queenstown is one of the best in the chain.

The room’s living area includes a comfortable chair, loveseat/sofa, coffee table, desk area, fireplace, refrigerator with a few minibar beverages, and coffee/tea service. There is also a small balcony with small stools. Beds are comfortable, and there are two televisions in the room just in case one is inclined to watch television. There is a good sized wardrobe with iron and ironing board, along with the requisite safe.

While some may find the location of the hotel to be inconvenient for visiting Queenstown proper, I chose this location because it was not in Queenstown proper. I rented a car so the location was not an issue for us. We could visit the town when we wished, and yet enjoy the tranquility we desired. There are water taxis and bus service for those who do not wish to rent a car while staying at the hotel. The hotel is near the Remarkables shopping center and the Queenstown airport. While we could see some planes from our room, we were not bothered by any airplane noise.

Thanks to Mr. Nesbit and Mr. Schumacher for a wonderful stay. I hope our travels will allow us to visit your property again in the not-too-distant future.

Room Tip: Choose a room on a higher floor with view of the lake.
