Lack of information on what is offered by the hotel. Not up to the standard I would expect of the Hilton name. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Room was clean and well presented but was lacking in the detail. Bathroom clean but bath had only been wiped. Mould in grout in shower. Lack of utensils in kitchenette. We don't travel much and we expected more for our dollar.

We had the best hotel experience in all our years of travel. The hotel appearance and cleanliness was fantastic and staff were always willing to help and provide options. Can’t wait to return and would recommend to EVERYONE!! 10/10

My wife and I stayed at this establishment for a total of seven days as part of our Skiing and time out Holiday. When we first arrived we were greeted at the desk with some excellent customer service. The staff took the time to explain the hotel to us and provide us with any details we needed about the surrounding area.

The room was fantastic, we got a King Deluxe which faced toward the Kawarau River, this provided some excellent views during the day and night. The room was just the right size for the two of us. There were no complaints here, one of the nicest rooms i've stayed in.

Housekeeping were awesome, each day the room was like we walked into it for the first time on our arrival. Fresh towels, bed made and even the dishes washed in the sink. One housekeeping staff member in particular (never knew who they were) had OCD and placed stuff in the bathroom in size order, it was quite funny to see each day.

The downside, the parking debacle!!! Gosh this was terrible, if you did not get back at the Hotel by at least 8pm on a weeknight, you'd be lucky to get a spot in the underground parking. Then you had to find out outside, if that failed. You were forced to park on the street outside of the village which was a good 300 meters up a hill. Its the parking that prevented me from giving this establishment a perfect review. That and the fact that you needed to pay for WIFI, something 80% of hotels in Queenstown now offer for free.

Something seriously needs to be looked at here, I even saw some people parking in disabled spots who were not disabled. When I brought this to the attention of staff working the counter that night, they seemed not to care.

Overall, awesome place, will stay here again if i come back.

Room Tip: Get the lake view, well worth it!

Kawarau was our base for a week while I tried to learn to ski (some success) and my partner and two teenaged sons snow boarded. Kawarau was amazing in every way. We had two conjoined rooms and they were perfect. Small kitchen area with fridge and a lounge area with two separate sleeping area so effectively we had a two loungeroom two bedroom apartment. Fantastic room service staff who came each day and even folded my messy sons clothes dropped on the floor!
All the staff were so bright and clearly committed to their work.
The snow shop on-site at Kawarau was great, good prices and the guys there helped with everything to adjusting bindings and changing boots mid week. Nothing was a problem, and gave us daily snow advice on where to go.
The full hot breakfast included in our package was a HUGE success complete with views of the snow covered mountains from the breakfast resturant.
I could not fault anything. This place was perfect for us. Far enough out of town ( on the lakeside, 5 mins drve from town) to be relaxing, had that resort atmosphere. I wish we had stayed two weeks not one. Ran out of time to take their electric bikes around the lake...

Room Tip: any, all have views, one way mountains, the other lake.

The room here was very nice (lake view). However if you want to relax in the pool/spa (located adjacent in the Hilton) they charge u an extra $20. Also, it was only after some negotiation that I managed to get a locker. Come on Hilton, if you want to 'extend' pool access to Kawerau guests make it free OR give them a locker to store their stuff. This place is a ways out of town so be aware you'll need a car.

stayed for a few nights as a base for Queenstown activities, found to be an excellent location as detached from the main areas meaning peaceful and quiet yet excellent array of venues to eat and drink. Can not fault the hotel in any way
