“Wow - love Queenstown and our Apartment”
Reviewed 5 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

What a beautiful two bedroom two bathroom apartment we had for two nights, it was extremely comfortable and well equipped, with car parking and free wifi. We just loved the indoor outdoor living with the sliding door onto the large deck and the views were sensational. Our unit was Number 16.

For those who like to be greeted by a concierge upon arrival, this is definitely not your style. I enjoyed not having to go through such formalities, meant getting to the room a lot faster.

The room has all the basic amenities one needs. The kitchen is fairly large boasting a gas stove top, oven, range hood and dishwasher. It has tea and coffee making facilities as well as a decent sized fridge. Both bedrooms are well sized and both feature a wardrobe and room access to the bathrooms. The sitting room is well sized with a dining table and couch, as well as tv with Skybox. The apartment does have an ac and gas fire heater however be did find that the gas fire does very little to heat the room and using the fan boost is just too loud. The apartment does have facilities for washing and drying.

Cleaning occurs every 3 days within your stay as well as on the your departure date, however during our stay they failed to come for 2 days after the expected date for reasons unknown to us, however all it took was a call to the office and it was dealt with swiftly and professionally.

Those who have not rented a car, the apartments are a fair walk, the coming back being the hardest, however if you are on holiday and aren't in a rush to be anywhere, the walk is pleasant and scenic.

Really nice large apartment with two large bedrooms and two bathrooms also nice balcony.
10 minute walk down to centre of town but a very step walk back up. Taxi back up from centre costs $8 and worth the money unless you are on a get fit mission.

“Wow! Just loved it!”

Hassle-free check-in. Just find the key box outside your assigned apartment and log in with your given password! Bingo! Pick up the key. Unlock the door and wow! So Spacious and so charming. Well- furnished with dining table, sofa,TV, gas -operated fire-place, air con, washing machine, dryer, oven....all in tip-top working condition! Feels like home! The apartment is located near town but sadly, up two steep streets. So if you got no means of transport, better go somewhere else. Otherwise, stay here!

“Disgraceful, avoid”

Stayed here in November and were really looking forward to staying here because the pictures looked amazing, but it was nothing like what it was advertised for. Our room didn't even have a kettle and when we asked for one we didn't receive one, not in the 3 nights we stayed. Our room had previous guests belongings left in the room and two single beds pushed together which was not what we asked for. As there was no front desk and no phone or wifi available it made it very difficult to sort out these issues. We were also lucky enough to have a very cranky, very loud baby in the next room, (the next room and ours were separated only by a locked door). The website says walking distance to town, another lie, 7km walking isn't exactly 'walking distance' . And lastly, we left two shirts in our room and when I emailed asking the staff to look for them it took 3 emails to even get a reply, which was useless anyway as they didn't bother to look. Complete disappointment, would never stay there again nor recommend it. The horrible service and room was a blessing in disguise though as it meant we spent all our time outside.

“Homely, clean with a few pleasant surprises!”
Reviewed 28 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Queenstown is a special place for me due to its beauty, clean fresh air and breath taking scenery. It had been 3 yrs since I was last here so I was super excited to be back in this beautiful part of the world. My friend wanted to stay somewhere nice and these apartments looked super nice in their website.

Service Experience:
If you are not bothered about service too much this place is ideal. However, we were told the apartments were under change of management, so maybe this would have impacted on the service standards we received? The apartments do not have a reception desk nor any phones you can call should you need assistance upon arrival. We arrived just after 3pm. and the electronic key pad you use to get in was broken. There was no one to contact. It was luckily my friend saw one of the cleaners and asked them to call someone to let us in. So if you decide to stay there, make sure you have access to a mob. Our plan was to get a Nz Sim card when we arrived there. The other annoyance is that we stayed for two weeks and the sheets and bath towels only got changed once! The apartment was supposed to be serviced mid week. We had to make several calls to reception just to get a top up of coffee, sugar and toilet paper. In saying all of this though, you get upon arrival, some lovely pastries from the local bakery and the guys running the place did they best to be hospitable and pleasant to deal with.

The property itself:
From the outside, the apartment block was very clean with well kept gardens and grounds. The apartment, itself was modern, very spacious, homely and cozzy, clean and tidy. The kitchen has the necessary basics utensils, champagne and wine glasses, pots and pans, you need to feel at home and cook. Fridge, dishwasher (detergent supplied) and gas stove and a wall gas heater! - Loved the gas stove :) and 6 seater dining table. Two modern bathrooms. Although we had did not expect much of a view as we booked a mountain view place we were pleasantly surprised. :) I wont spoil it too much. Is better you experience it by yourselves. All I will say is that it doesn't matter if you book a mountain view apartment you will still get lovely views of the Town and Mountains. :)

Location:
Brilliantly located in Kent St, with the good balance of being far and close enough from all the noise of the town centre. So if you are looking somewhere to stay away from noise and crowds, and you don't mind getting fit walking up the two gigantic hills back from town to Kent St, this is the place for you. We opted not to hire a car. as we wanted to walk everywhere! we got to know town very well and we got fitter in the process! :) it takes about

5-10mins walk down the hills from Kent St. when it was raining too much we caught taxis which were only $10-11AUD from Ballarat St. I always tipped them more (although you don't have to) as it is only a 2min car trip up hill. And the taxi drivers in Nz are the most friendly taxi drivers I have come across, even better than Australia! Element Escapes are 14kms from Frankton Airport. so the taxi fare is a little more approx. $40AUD one way.

Overall, I did not mind the 10min walk from town. The views coming down the hill are amazing! and I got to get fitter walking back up the hill!

Liked Most:
* The heated tiles and towel racks in the bathrooms (I'll never be the same - haha).
* Gas nor electric stove and heater
* Views from the main bedroom
* Shower heads and big bathroom dresser space
* Champagne and Wine glass glasses provided
* Ultra thick curtains - kept the 10pm sunlight at bay and bright sunlight in the morning at bay.
*The Mountain Views.

Disliked most:
* Not much really. as I wasn't too fussed about being waited on. was just happy to be somewhere nice and clean away from crowds with beautiful views.

“Perfect modern apartment - great for couples”
Reviewed 17 December 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Stayed here with my partner and another couple and size was just perfect. Great little apartment with modern fixtures.

A little out of the town but a taxi is around $8-10, which is really easy when you are splitting between 4. The owners are very kind and always happy to help which is great. We had a very early check-in and they really helped accommodate this.
Wifi worked fine - which is super important when you are in NZ to check ski conditions.
Also a spa outside - which is actually shared with others, but we only used this once and it was super super hot!!

The only suggestion I had was need more amenities for people who want to cook - i.e no bin liners, no cooking oil or even a splash of milk or tea. Other than this - pretty much perfect.
