Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Perfect location. The view from the cube of glass that is is the dining area are breathtaking, we didn't want to go out. We were lucky to stay on the top floor. We had views to the Gondola, The Remarkables and down to the lake. Yes it is a steep walk the last little bit up the hill, but bearable. We want to go back and stay for a week. ( We had 4 days )

Room Tip: Choose a high floor with views, it is worth it to pay more.

We - my husband and I - recently stayed at Scenic Suites for three nights when visiting Queenstown. The room/suite was large, modern and clean and had all the things you need to be comfortable. I highly recommend this place - especially if staying more than one night - as you are able to cook/make breakfast and wash your clothes if needed. The only negative thing I have to say about the place was some of the staff members at reception. We were told that we could check in at 2 pm - we checked with them when we arrived in the morning - but when returning to the hotel at 2.30 pm the room was still not ready. I am aware that these things at times happen and that hotels get busy. However the young girls at reception handled the situation poorly and offered no alternative. They did apologise but I have stayed at many other hotels around the world where a drink etc has been offered while waiting - or late chekout. When asking to use the Internet while waiting a young girl at reception was going to charge me but luckily changed her mind - maybe this staff member could tell that my level of frustration was rising! Also you have to pay for wifi - why not charge a little extra for the room and offer customers free wifi? Apart from this we had an excellent stay.

We had a very comfortable, spacious, clean and well-equipped double room - two double beds, tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board, drying rack and hair dryer. The location is very good - only about five minutes walk from the centre of Queenstown, though bear in mind that it is a very steep hill back up to the hotel from town! The underground car park is free and seemed secure, so that was a good additional feature. A criticism of the hotel would that our room shared a doorway from the corridor with one other room, which was disturbing when they came in after we'd gone to bed, as we could hear that door opening and closing outside our main room door. Also perhaps there should be free wifi given the price of the rooms? But overall we were very happy with our stay!

We travelled with friends for Christmas and spent 1 week at the Scenic Suites in a 2 Bedroom apartment. We have an amazing view over the town to Lake Waktipu and the Remarkables. Apartments were well equipped for self catering, modern furnishings and a washer/dryer was very handy. We had a few hot days and the apartments were extremely hot with no air conditioning but there was a portable fan available. Our room was on a corner closest to the main road which was quite noisy when we opened the doors to try and cool the apartment. Staff were welcoming and helpful, they even offered to bring our groceries up to the room for us from the free underground parking. I felt this was great Customer Service and going the extra mile. It was a short walk downhill to the town centre.

The staff were friendly. The suite was great with a lake view. The hotel has paid internet, and I would have liked free wifi internet instead. No air conditioning but we didn't seem to need it. Well located. Free underground parking. As we were there for a few days the full kitchen, washer/drier and dishwasher were very useful. It was a good place to get refreshed and relaxed at the end of a long day. We booked directly through the hotel and Paulo reserved a great room for us which really made our stay in Queenstown the highlight of our vacation. Thanks Paulo!

We were delighted to have a room with a view on the third floor. The room was spacious, with generous facilities. Sometimes you see photos of Hotel rooms only to be disappointed when you actually see the room, here it was the reverse, the photo didn't do the room justice. We felt safe had great room service and will stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask if a room with a view is available? They can only say no.

I stayed at the Scenic Suites for five nights as part of my travels through New Zealand. After backpacking and staying in hostels, the Scenic Suites was like a palace. But even if I hadn't been staying in hostels previously, the place was quite nice.

I had a one bedroom suite which was surprisingly large. The kitchen was good sized with all the dishes you would need for cooking, plus a dishwasher. The washer/dryer were a bit small, but got the job done. Also, had electric tea pot, great selection of teas/coffee/hot chocolate, oven/stove and microwave. I used all these things during my stay which made making meals and entertaining friends so much more easier.

The furnishings were relatively plain and not real high end, but very comfortable and all in good condition. The king sized bed was a bit low to the ground and a little soft, but not bad. The bathroom was also large and very clean with separate shower and tub. The view from my windows was amazing looking out at the Remarkable Mountains. However, one word of caution, my room was right along Stanley Street...which did mean great views but some road noise since Stanley Street is a major road through Queenstown with lots of tour buses and trucks.

The hallways through the place are a bit of a maze and are a bit sterile, but who really cares. It would have been nice to have a recycling bin in the room...instead they wanted you to haul your recycling down the hall. This doesn't really encourage people to be green in a very green country like NZ.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend Scenic Suites. If I'm ever in Queenstown again, I would stay there again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that views the mountains, but be careful about being too close to Stanley Street.
