The Heritage although not all bells and whistles was a good place to stay in Queenstown without breaking the bank! It's a nice walk into the centre of town but the hill on returning to the hotel can certainly leave one out of breath! (I was 4 months pregnant at the time so not ideal or for the elderly). Bed was very comfortable, a good selection of pay for films and the room service was also generous in its portions and tasty!

We stayed here for 1 night in a 2-bedroom apartment with lake view. I really liked the location of this hotel, in the peaceful suburb of Fernhill, still very close to the Queenstown centre. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with a lot of European feel.

The accommodation areas are divided into three wings, one of which is facing the lake. Facilities include underground carpark (but sometimes it gets full) and the very inviting hot tub/small pool. Unfortunately we didn't try the hot tub as the weather was so rainy during our stay. The apartments were large and comfortable, with all the expected amenities (even a laundry station was provided!). There's a small balcony where you can relax and contemplate the lovely view of the lake.

If anything needs improvement, it might be the restaurant on the ground floor. The food was fine, but the dishes took rather long to arrive at the table, even though not many guests were there. Aside from this minor quibble, I would gladly recommend this hotel for visitors to Queenstown.

We were in Queenstown as part of our honeymoon and chose to stay at the Heritage, we loved our stay there. For Starters our bed was super comfy, the pillows complemented it. We were staying in the Lake view wing and had a lake facing room and I must say the view from our room was super!! Infact I have checked out some other hotels in Queenstown and can say that very few hotels give you unobstructed views of the lake like heritage does. The next aspect of the hotel that we really enjoyed was the hot tub in the pool area, perfect after a cold and tiring day. We went there almost every evening. The hotel has very convenient parking as well, the car parking area was right under our building so one never needed to get wet on those rainy days and had a convenient left access as well to move luggage.
The location of the hotel itself was very good, only a 10 in walk into the centre. The hotel toiletries were of excellent quality and the toilet had a shower as well a separate bathtub.

Room Tip: Get the Lake facing rooms in the Lake View wing for superb views of Lake Wakatipu.

We got a 2 bedroom apartment, which was nice and spacious. It was clean and tidy but the daily cleaning service was always late coming bout 6 o'clock at night. This was not good for us as this is time we needed to get our son ready for bed. Also the 2 bedroom was on the 4th floor with only stair access from the 3rd to 4th, but they do sort your luggage out if you request it. Location is just a little far from town for walking but if you have a car then it's no problem

Good afternoon Lozzasoss

Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback on your recent stay with us at the Heritage Hotel in Queenstown. My apologies for the delayed daily room service. We experienced an unusually busy period over dates in April, which we do experience here from time to time over the year.

The receptionist responded to a booking muddle by upgrading us to a really comfortable suite which resolved the problem and ensured we had a fantastic stay here. The hotel is just a short walk away from the town centre of Queenstown. It is quiet, comfortable and well-appointed. Parking on site and under cover.

Very comfortable room. Service was friendly without being invasive. It is a little out of town but we appreciated the opportunity to get out and walk. We had one evening meal in the restaurant which surpassed expectations in terms of quality and service was just at the right level. Breakfasts got a little chaotic if you coincided with the tour groups eating up before departing.

We were staying over the Easter break - the strain on room cleaning staff was evident. We returned to our room around 5.00pm one evening and it still hadn't been serviced. It was by the time we returned later that night. The TV remote did not work fully from day one. I mentioned it to staff at reception the morning after we arrived (Easter Sunday). I was assured that it would be attended to. It still wasn't fixed or replaced when we checked out on the Friday. I suspect there were no maintenance staff in attendance over the long weekend. The hotel is yet to have mature service systems that ensure all staff view these "minor but important" issues from the guests' perspective. It wasn't a big issue for us (we didn't spend much time in the room other than to sleep) and we could have followed up if it was. However, it is how a service organisation like a hotel responds when things aren't quite right that tells much about the quality of it's leadership.

Very lovely place to stay for 2 nights in Garden view/partial lakeview room.
About a 20 minute walk from main street Queenstown (was actually nice to be a little away from the busy town).
Undercover parking and lift was great.
Room excellent and neat, but still basic.
Unfortunately they had a wedding on one night. There were no parks and very noisy to quite late.
I'd happily stay again though, service was excellent.

Room Tip: Lake/garden view rooms are good, but you can easily go outside to enjoy it too. Don't spend extr...
