Stayed for a conference over 5 days and can say many positive things about the hotel. We had a Junior Suite and very very happy with the size of the room, the comfortable bed, spacious lounge area and large, well lit bathroom and the magnificent view of the lake and snow capped mountains. Two large TVs with a good selection of channels. Rooms serviced well over the 5 days we stayed. Some might quibble about the shower over the bath and the plastic shower curtain but both did the job. The walls of the room do let in noise from the the rooms next door and this would be a problem if you had noisy neighbors. Not sure if it is the thickness of the walls as they seem really solid but is something that needs remedy. Ate twice at the restaurant for dinner and meals were ok without being stand-out. We thought the breakfast buffet was better than normal hotel fare, especially the hot selection. Service on check-in and check-out was very friendly and efficient. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Pay a little more for a Junior Suite - well worth it

Wifi didn't work, but claim FREE to attract booking.
Reception counter staffs provide no warm welcome, no greetings when check in. No "Thank you" when check out.
We stayed 2 nights: One twin 2 double bed room with lake view on mezz floor (no lift access) - bathroom with no shower gel.
The other budget twin room -- the carpet is smelly, shower is open with the toilet, basic pantry covered with dust. facing the carpark (no privacy).

Hotel---- only appears good looking, but "budget" !

It is winter time. Need to take time to get water hot enough for shower.

Definitely will not recommend to friends,

This place is old and tired with poor service and an appalling restaurant. Pay extra and avoid!
The restaurant had the atmosphere of a morgue, the three staff out-numbered the patrons, the medium rare steak came medium well, the buttered vegetables were undercooked and devoid of butter. My wife's salad of marinated figs stuffed with blue cheese with walnuts came out minus the walnuts. When we pointed this out to the waitperson they came back with a bowl of walnuts straight from the packet! The sale contained around a quarter of a raw red onion. The hotel is about a 500 metre walk to the edge of the town centre where there are plenty of dining options but on a cold wet night we regrettably decided to dine in.

The location was fantastic, 5min walk to Queenstown shops. Our room was on level 9 & over looking the lake, the views were stunning. Also we enjoyed the sauna facilities, although they were not always stocked with fresh towels & toiletries, and on a few occasions the dirty laundry basket had not been emptied.
The room itself was a good size & the bed was comfortable. The bathroom however was terrible, the shower was very low for us, being 5'10 we had to duck down to use it.
All the fixtures and fittings are very out-dated also the TV channels were limited, for example there was not a full set of Freeview channels. We found it very bizarre there were no duvet covers. Just two uncovered duvets in between top and bottom sheets.
The one and only time we visited the restaurant it was a shocking. The starter we had, was supposed to be honey poached stuffed figs, but the figs was not stuffed and tasted like they were fresh from a packet off a supermarket shelf. Main courses were very average, I would compare them to home cooked dinners made in a rush. The vegetables were not seasoned, and the sauces tasted like they were from packets. We didn't risk ordering a desert also. Needless to say we did not go back to the restaurant.
The breakfast buffet was okay, very standard.
The staff were helpful, not unfriendly but it seemed like a lot of the staff did not want to be there.
Overall it was a bit disappointing that a hotel is such a perfect location is being run down in such a way, with a good spruce up this could be a really great hotel.
