Eichardts is a fabulous hotel. It's more like a luxurious home than a hotel. The rooms are appointed to a very high standard and it was hard to leave and explore Queenstown. The staff service was friendly and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble. From breakfast in the parlour to tappas in the small bar, Eichardts is a fantastic experience.

Please let me know if there is something special we can organise for your next stay. Dear Short-e-931

Thank you for your review on tripadvisor, the staff and I appreciate your feedback and I was pleased to read you enjoyed your Eichardt's experience. Now that Spring is upon us, it is the perfect opportunity to warm up in front of the roaring log fire in Eichardt's Bar, curl up on a cosy sofa in one of our spacious hotel suites or lakefront apartments, or relax in the parlour in pure opulence after a day spent exploring our stunning region. A retreat from the hussle and bussle of Queenstown. Signs of new life are abundant throughout the region. We look forward to seeing you at Eichardt’s again soon.

Kind Regards

We stayed in a suite a few metres from the main hotel. The suite was beside a restaurant and when we went to bed we were unable to sleep because of the loud noise of the ventilation unit from either the hotel or the restaurant next door. We phoned reception and asked how long the noise would go on for. Apparently all night. Reception knew exactly what noise we were referring to when I called so there was no dispute that this was a significant problem in the room. It would have been impossible to sleep so we requested to be moved. We were told that it would take an hour to organise a new room. This is at 11pm at night. I pulled the cushions off the lounge thinking it might have a sofa bed and be in a quieter area. Underneath the cushions was a years supply of broken biscuits, potatoes chips and other debris from earlier guests. Filthy. Then reception phoned and suggested we move hotels so they moved us at midnight back to the Spire Hotel, which we had just come from. (see separate review....this is where you should stay...FANTASTIC) Walking through Queenstown in our pyjamas with overcoat at midnight is not what we expected when paying $1200 a night for a hotel room. No compensation was offered for a sleepless night. I would not stay at this hotel at any cost. We found the staff indifferent and careless. The romantic bar advertised was in fact a very noisy bar full of big groups (on a Monday night) with two waitresses who could not cope with the numbers. It could never be romantic!!! This hotel is so overrated it is unbelievable. Service and attitude, major problem. The suite without the noise would have been nice but it is very close to the road and when we opened the doors to enjoy the view, we became a spectacular for everyone on the lakefront and walking along the footpath. I would rate this as one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in.

Dear SophieGoldCoast,

Thank you for providing feedback regarding your stay with us. I was disappointed to read your comments about your experience. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service and have an excellent history of this, as proven by our internal and external guest feedback.

I fully investigated the events of the evening with my staff and I apologise for the inconvenience you experienced moving Hotels during the evening. The noise was from a faulty air conditioning unit which had become an issue only that evening and was fixed the next morning, there was nothing we could do to fix it quickly late at night. You were adamant you could not sleep with the noise – had you stayed we would of course not have charged you. As there was no other room available in the hotel we organised a room nearby at your request. I believe we promptly dealt with and resolved your issues when they were originally raised with us in the most appropriate way and in a manner befitting a five star property. We genuinely care about our guests and do everything possible to ensure their experience is exceptional.

Thank you again for your feedback and I would welcome the opportunity for you to stay with us again next time you visit Queenstown. If you would like to discuss further please contact me personally at the Hotel.

Kind Regards

Chris McIntosh

Eichardt's is such a beautiful boutique hotel and prefectly located right in the heart of Queenstown. Our suite was just amazing and the views from our window's looked straight out to the lake front and the fire place in our room just topped it off. They also have a cottage to the left of the main building which is also great for couples, familes or groups of friends travelling together. There really is no other place to stay in Queenstown and its like a home away from home. It has to be seen to be believed. Thanks Eichardt's for such an amazing experience..

Perfect location overlooking lake steamer jetty etc and two minute walk to any number of restaurants. Breakfast and lunch and evening tapas (serious dinners not offered) are exquisite and available from delightful and friendly staff. Rooms magnificent even including movement-triggered floor lighting when a small excursion to the bathroom (with his and her sinks etc) is required in the middle of the night. Five rooms only plus bar and library/breakfast room. Interior wonderfully decorated with interesting artefacts. Some noise from early morning revellers at the weekend but given the hotels location this is probably unavoidable if you have a room overlooking the lake. Close to perfection.
