Our stay in Queenstown couldn't be better. The owners were lovely and very helpful. The view from the apartment was breathtaking. It had a well equipped kitchen, which was good as we both had dietary requirements and were able to easily make up our own food. We liked the location as we were able to walk out our front door right onto the lake. Certainly recommend staying here.

We rented a two bedroom apt. as my husband and I were traveling with my daughter and her husband. It worked out perfectly. Each of us a large comfortable bedroom with bath. The living and dining room overlooked Lake Wakatipu with the Remarkable Mts. in background. We ended up cooking in one night as we enjoyed the view so much (and a supermarket is right near the airport which is not far from Spinnaker Bay.

The location was great. It was easy to either walk or drive into town. The managers were very helpful with suggestions and giving directions. We had wished we had stayed more than two days here!

We had a relaxing stay at Spinnaker and the views and proximity to town were ideal in our spacious 3 bedroom apartment.

However this is a luxury apartment with a high tariff and therefore I need to provide some balanced feedback.

The washing machine was not working properly though Jude kindly ran our washing through her machine one day, still it should have been fixed promptly when we were there. The TV in the master bedroom did not go or there was no remote to make it go and my wife wanted to watch it from the bedroom one night while the kids ere watching other programmes. We flagged this early on but it was not remedied. The handle on the wood burner kept falling off and for 2 to 3 consecutive days a big truck and utes blocked easy access in and out of the complex. It meant as a guest that we felt we had to park elsewhere. The external tradespeople weren't particularly engaging or helpful on access when we approached.

I have made the point that if you say luxury it does means that in every sense of the word.

It could also do with a gym.

Would we go back, yes, probably.

The managers of the complex were very friendly.

Stayed there for 3 nights and enjoyed it thoroughly. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms were large too.
Just that the swimming pool was rather small but don't worry. You won't even have time to miss it as there are so many other activities to do such as strolling around the lake which us just right at your door front. A quiet and tranquil place. Just love it!

I just got back from an incredible stay in Queenstown. My wife and I were in the huge apartment 12. The apartment had magnificent views, was absolutely spotless and was extremely comfortable.

The views are absolutely incredible and it is a lovely walk into town along the lake front. I couldn't be happier with our stay. We particularly loved the huge couch to relax on when we'd done lots of sightseeing.

My only minor complaints are the internet signal was a bit weak and the room didn't get heaps of sun but really it didn't matter it was lovely and warm. I will be back,

Excellent apartments very spacious, luxurious with excellent kitchen, BBQ area, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms with stunning views of the mountains and lake which could be seen whilst lying in bed . The owners were very friendly and helpful. Stayed for 3 nights but would have stayed longer if had the time. 10 minutes walk to town centre and plenty of activities to do. Owners happy to arrange trips and give advise. Wonderful

We had apartment #4 as a one bedroom unit. The view is to die for and you can see it from lounge upstairs and bedroom downstairs. The rooms are very spacious, and the furniture is comfortable which is unusual for most apartments.

They are VERY quiet - we stayed for 9 nights and the complex was full for most of it, and we didn't hear a peep out of the other guests. The balconies are built so that you don't have to share your bbq and conversation with your neighbours, but are quite private. Good hot water, nice big king size bed, daily service with lots of coffee and a good gas bbq outside in the courtyard. The Frankton Road is above the complex but you can't hear any traffic, you do hear and see the jets coming in but they stop at night so there is really no noise problem.

Honestly couldn't find anything wrong with the place. We felt at home straight away and very relaxed.

Some of the garages that belong to the apartments are pretty tiny and hard to get into as they are separated from the units, I think these are the one and two bedroom ones. The studio rooms have garages underneath and look fine if you have a big car.

It's a pleasant walk along the path to town, mostly flat with a small rise at the town end. Very safe even at night. You can also walk to the airport the other way. Watch out for tourists cycling, they are everywhere and seem to want to mow you down at every opportunity. The locals are a bit more polite about sharing the pathway.

There is a great shopping centre at the airport which we used instead of the one in town which is hard to park in.

The complex also has a lovely indoor pool with lots of sunlight, but we didn't use it, preferring to swim in the lake as it was hot weather.

Travel tip: when arriving from the airport in your rental car, the entrance is hidden around a bend. You can miss it easily the first time. The best way is to put your indicator on once you have seen the signs for the Villa del Lago and Oaks Club Resort, and prepare to dive in to the narrow entrance of Spinnaker Bay once you have passed these two complexes.
