Enjoyed our stay here. Fantastic views. If you wish to use your car every day it's not great. But we parked up for 5 nights and mainly walked into town and got taxis back. However it was sunny. I wouldn't want to be doing that in winter? The apartments were spacious. Perhaps some of the smal fixtures and fittings such as the lamp shades make the place a little bit dated...I would say that is more the choice of the owner. It wouldn't take much effort or money to make this place look really modern. We booked this place having seen trip advisor advertising free wifi. However, not much point advertising it when it hardly works!

Great place to stay for to visit Queenstown. Very friendly staff. Apartments are clean and fully equipped, kitchen, laundry, everything you can think of. 20
Minutes walk into town or 13 NZ$ for a taxi. Any time again!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but please don't be put off by the "Expensive but cheap" review posted two weeks ago. These apartments are wonderful. A family of five, we stayed for a week and could not have chosen better - apart from the stunning views, the apartments are well equipped , the rooms a good size and you can have your bedding changed each day without charge. The location for us was ideal.....not in the town centre itself but a wonderful 15 minute stroll along the lake so we chose not to hire a car for our stay. The manager Jude was very helpful and made us feel very welcome and like the previous reviewer we didn't want to leave. Tip: if you can get one of the apartments on the front row, nearest the lake.

Room Tip: Front row, nearest the lake

What a wonderful place. We rented a two-bedroom condo for our family and it is magnificent. The views of the bay and mountains are spectacular. Furnishings, including kitchen, washer/dryer, deck, fireplace, garage are all first-rate. Short walk to town. Jude, the office manager, is friendly and amazingly helpful. One of the best places we've ever stayed. Don't want to leave!!

Clearly the views are stunning and this is what you are paying for.
But it is on the worst corner of the whole of Frankton Road - it is dangerous getting in or out.
There are too few signs showing Spinnaker and you can barely see it as you approach the corner.
When you are leaving, it is difficult to see the traffic approaching and you put your lives at risk as you try and venture out.
Just as bad though is the parking with your unit - the garage spaces are way too small and the access from the windy path down is too narrow to let you get into the garage. Most drivers I watched were struggling to get in or out. We nearly scraped the side of our hire car as we tried to squeeze in from the narrow access.
BUT my biggest phobia about staying in New Zealand is the absolute obsession with checkouts at 10am. When you are paying these rates which are some of the highest in Queenstown, you want to relax and enjoy the room. If you are there for a short visit only, you don't want to spend your last day working to avoid the time police harassing you.
When I asked about a later checkout, she was insistent that it was impossible as some guest wanted the room early. Why an incoming customer is more important than an existing one is beyond me.
Yet when I first asked about the times I could arrive, they were just as insistent that the check-in time was 2pm and no earlier.
It is a fundamental reason I travel more to Europe and the States as they are far more conscious of service than receptionists in Australia and New Zealand who are focussed on rules rather than the customer.

Yes, the apartment is large but this is basically because it is upstairs, downstairs - the downside of this is that every time you wanted to use the bathroom, it was one more trip up and down the stairs. Apart from that, the floorboards squeak and if one is trying to sleep and the other is upstairs, every step you walk is heard and magnified downstairs.
Most of the fittings and utensils are the cheapest you could imagine - the bbq is cheap and not covered.
The cutlery is the worst you could imagine.
The dishwasher is terrible - thankfully, we didn't put it on the night before as the noise was way too loud.
Clearly the view is wonderful but when you are paying these dollars, I would have been happier having a little more time to enjoy it.
As an aside, there are no food facilities at this apartment complex and the nearest food outlets are a few kilometres away so it would be sensible to plan before you arrived and perhaps shopped at the Remarkables retail complex before you arrived.

Very helpful and pleasant receptionist, big apartment with views to die for from both bedrooms and living areas, very comfortable with kitchen and laundry so a bonus to be able to do the laundry (powder was supplied) was great to have a bathroom for each bedroom. We walked in and would have been happy to just sit and admire the scenery :-)

Room Tip: We were in a two bedroom apartment but I can't see how any rooms wouldn't be excellent

We have just returned from an amazing holiday in Queenstown which was made so much more enjoyable with our stay at Spinnaker Bay for 12 nights. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment overlooking the most incredibly beautiful views from the veranda and bedrooms, of the Remarkable snow capped mountains and lake. The apartment was spotless. Jude, the manager was wonderful and friendly, and assisted with everything we asked of her. The pool was heated and also had stunning views. The walk into town with a 5 year old took about 20 minutes along the waterfront. I just cant say enough about our stay and would recommend the Spinnaker Bay apartments to everyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in apartment 11 and it was amazing. Stunning views.
