One of the issues I had was the lack of bathrooms. Fair enough, the shower on our floor was being refurbed but the toilet didn't even have a working light. The other bathroom was upstairs in the middle of the kitchen/lounge which I didn't like. I went up to the toiletin the middle of the night and there was a couple having sex in the lounge - classy.
The kitchens were horrible. Nobody cleans up after themselves and there's a lack of plates, glasses etc. Oh, and one morning I saw a mouse in the kitchen!
Our double room itself was okay but very cold and the heater wasn't much good. There was a wooden balcony right outside and people would stomp along there at all times of the night which was very noisy.
Overall, I can imagine the hostels right in the town centre are much better. If we hadn't paid in full when we arrived we'd have left early. We've stayed in a lot of hostels & don't have high expectations but this place takes the mick.
Did I mention there's vermin in the kitchen?!
