“Free upgrade and beautiful view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2011

My husband and I started and ended our wedding trip in Queenstown. As much as I love to mix it up and stay at different places each visit, we agreed to begin and end our stay in Queenstown at the Garden Court Suites. The room we had the first and second night was huge and had an amazing view of the mountains. When we came back weeks later to catch our flight out, we had 1 night stay and were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment. No details were missed. From heated floors to a private patio. The people were very friendly and it`s just a short walk to the downtown area. I would definitely stay here again.

lovely views across the park and internal views of a well maintained garden certainly made the place very attractive. Would've liked some help with where to eat etc, ideas not shared but great to be in walking distance of town.

Room Tip: make sure you don't have an upstairs studio, too much traffic noise - take advantage of the late...

We stayed 3 nights in a one bedroom apartment on the top floor with spectacular views over the lake and mountains. The accommodation was spotless with single drawer dishwasher, medium sized fridge, front loading washing machine and separate dryer. The apartment was warm with a wall heater in the living room and bedroom and underfloor heating in the bathroom. Only a 5 minute walk from the centre of town and 6 minute drive to the supermarket. The reception was efficient and provided information and a map of the town. The only small inconvenience was having to walk up 3 flights of stairs with our suitcases from our allocated parking spot however, when we saw the view from the apartment we quickly forgot all about it.

Our 1 bedroom apt suited our family to a tee! Our apt overlooked the lake and mountains. It was close enough to the city without being out in the sticks. Bed was comfy enough, although pillows weren't. Staff very friendly and helpful with tips on what Queenstown has to offer, especially when we were too early for the snow :( Our family will be staying here again and I'd recommend to anyone.

This is the best place I ever stayed at. I've been to a lot of 3star, 4star, and 5star hotells. But I think I rank this as the best one. No staff bugging you all the time and no crowd in lobby. Definitley worth some extra money for the view. Only like 5-8min to the small city centre..
This place had everything, washing machine, bath with jetstream, kitchen, tableware, flat screen tv, stereo, carpark, you name it they have it. I will definitley try to check in at appartments suits in the future instead of hotels.

The only thing that would make this place even better would be free wifi and maybe a computer/laptop in the room.
I rank this place around 9.2.
10.0 if they had free wifi and 10.0+++ if they also had the computer/laptop in the room.

Originally booked the studio suite however it had a water leak near the sliding door leading to out the back so we were upgraded to a 1 bed apt which was great as the studio suite was not that actually that nice. The bathroom was pretty old and shabby. The 1 bed apt on the other hand was fantastic. The kitchen had all facilities so you could cook if you wanted to. The bathroom was also much more modern compared to the studio suite. We had the room on the ground floor with a courtyard which made you feel quite secure as the gate could be locked however the gate was a shared entrance to the unit above so you also relied on them locking the gate. Drying rooms for all your snow gear was included with the 1 bed apt too as well as free off street parking. Location was about a 15 min walk to the centre of town. Be warned though, the hotel is located at the top of a massive hill. There is a bus stop out front so you can get picked up from there to go to The Remarkables instead of catching the bus from the central station in town. Overall enjoyed the stay but definitely would choose the apartment over the studio suite.

Room Tip: Don't bother with studio suite

We had a 2 bed 2 bathroom Unit on Adelaide Street. We found it quite compact for a family with teenagers. Actually it was the smallest two bed unit we had stayed in. We found there was an issue with noise, not only from the adjoining unit( a group of young skiiers who woke at 6 every morning to heavy metal music) but also from the main road. Consequently nights were not peaceful. The unit was looking a little tired but it was very clean and the staff helpful. The location was ideal, being only a 5 minute walk to the centre of town. It was the most expensive per night, and compared to other stays in Queenstown better value had been had. I would agree with Dan Phelan about the parking. A bit of a shambles. As a family we would not chose to stay there again if we had an option. Saying that, My husband and I stayed in one of their newer 1 bed Balcony Apartments overlooking the lake the previous year. I would thouroughly recommend those units as they were quieter, larger(the living area seemed larger than the 2 bed) and naturally the unit did not have a tired feel. So chose your apartment carefully and enjoy the magical location.

Room Tip: Chose a room as far away from the busy main road. Pay a little extra and you will get a better night...
