We recently visited Queenstown for a mini break to visit friends, and stayed at the Sofitel for 2 nights.
Upon arriving we were greeted and checked in by a fantastic female receptionist, whos name we do not recall, apologies. We were handed over to Simon the concierge, who introduced the hotel, room and facilities and continued to acknowledge us throughout the entire stay. In fact, every member of staff we encountered were polite and courteous and this was lovely to see and experience.
The location is ideal for instant access to queenstown. The decor, design and furnishings are applaudable and so very comfortable. The hotel is stylish yet welcoming.
Highly recommended, we shall most definitely return.
Our single piece of feedback would be that valet parking is a tad expensive given the expanse of on street parking avaliable and the cost of mann street car park if you access independently. Having stayed elsewhere in the city who had private secure parking valued at $10 per day for the valet service, we feel $15-20 per day would be more agreeable.
All in all, a perfect stay in a beautiful hotel. Very much appreciated.

My wife and I stayed at the Sofitel on our honeymoon. What a great location and place to stay. You are literally a stones throw from the heart of downtown. The rooms are very spacious and have very comfortable King size beds. The onsite amenities are exquisite. The staff is top notch and very friendly. You definitely get what you pay for in this beautiful 5 star hotel. We would highly recommend this hotel to stay at in Queenstown.

A weekend away with Ladies is alot of fun. During a recent trip to Queenstown, we stayed at the Sofitel Queeenstown. Located in the heart of Queenstown, a beautiful Hotel with professional and friendly staff. The rooms were beautifully presented, with a tv in the bathroom and soft music playing when you enter. Sitting and chatting in the foyer was great, as we indulged in a late dessert.
This hotel was a great choice, since we had taken this tgrip as the weather was getting cooler, it was easy to return from anywhere in Queenstown. Nice and warm from the chill outside.

Having just returned from a 4 night stay at the Sofitel in Queenstown, I felt compelled to write a review as it was such a fabulous hotel. The hotels amenities are what you would expect from a 5 star hotel however it is the personal service which sets this hotel apart from others within this class.
Every staff member we interacted with, from reception staff to the hotel cleaners were incredibly courteous and helpful. The treatment we received at the Spa at the Sofitel deserves special mention. Both therapists (Marielle & a young lady from the UK) provided us with a luxurious 105 minute treatment consisting of time in the hammam, followed by a scrub and massage. Highly recommended and well worth the money $155 (Autumn offer).
Foodwise, we didnt have breakfast in the hotel, however we ate at the Jervois Steakhouse on two occassions. The steaks were perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. Within the guest rooms, you will find a very nifty Illy espresso coffee maker. I am not fond of home espresso machines, but this one was surprisingly very good. Milk is provided everyday free of charge if you are into lattes or milky coffees.
The Sofitel is well positioned in Queenstown with easy access to the Sky Gondola and all the shops. It doesn't have killer views, however, we did not find this to be an issue in any way as the hotel was excellent in every other way. Am hoping to come back soon!

We were fortunate to have a night paid for at the Sofitel recently. Everything from arriving to leaving was fantastic and we wished we could have stayed for longer. The hotel is stylish, clean, modern with a classic feel and extremely well situated.

The reception staff were welcoming and efficient. Seamus, who seems to be a Sofitel icon, showed us to our room and could not have been more helpful. He's a gem.

The room itself was well proportioned, beautifully decorated and no stone had been left unturned in its design. The bed was big and REALLY comfy with high quality pillows and duvet. The bathroom was big and well appointed, even including under floor heating if needed. We used the fancy coffee machine and the coffee really was good - no instant coffee with disgusting creamer here! There was even a small balcony.

We were booked a free spa session in the Hammam steam room which I particularly enjoyed.

Breakfast at the Left Bank restaurant was buffet style but of much higher quality than usual breakfast buffets. The juices were served in individual carafes and there were around 8 varieties. Barista coffee was included, as was sparkling wine and basically, all the ingredients were top notch.

We were very sorry to leave the hotel and will almost certainly return.

A few teeny tiny gripes - the bathroom toiletries were already half used which was a pain and I really thought it would be nice to have some smaller bottles of wine in the mini bar as we didn't really want a whole one but quite fancied a single glass each. As I said, minor gripes only

Room Tip: 315 was pretty nice!

We stayed here over the Easter weekend and were looked after very well by all the staff. We must mention Seamus, the Concierge, who organised a lovely birthday dinner for us in a restaurant he recommended.
Seamus was excellent and like all the staff was very helpful throughout our stay. Checking in was very quick with a great Reception staff and the Concierge helped move our bags immediately and ensured we were happy with our accommodation and showed us how to work the coffee machine. Small things but they do matter.

The room we were in was quiet, spacious and comfortable. This was really great considering the cool weather in Queenstown!

The food in the Left Bank cafe was of a generous portion and extremely tasty. It was also very good value compared to the cafes and restaurants of Queenstown. We do intend to return.

We have stayed here twice now and have just booked for a third trip later in the year. Our stay at the Sofitel Queenstown has been wonderful. We really could not have asked for more. Our flight into Queenstown was diverted to Christchurch. As a result of this delay we arrived at 1am without having had dinner. A shared sandwich on the coach really doesn't count. The kitchen was closed when we arrived but one of the staff on reception went out and collected take away burgers for us and then conducted a wine tasting in our room so we could choose a glass of red wine to accompany our meal. On a chilly winter's night this was well beyond what anyone could expect and got our stay in Queenstown off to a great start.
Throughout our stay the service was outstanding and the facilities first class. We only had one day spa treatment and it was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Completely relaxing.
We can't wait to go back.
