Very large room, beautifully decorated, fantastic bed, bathroom brilliant (with TV), coffee machine (made very good coffee), fresh milk in fridge and the balcony was a bit small (oh well). Well maintained, great service, good breakfast, perfect location (rooms near to the bar and restaurant strip can be noisy)
You get what you pay for.
One of the best.

Room Tip: straight above reception forward facing

I love Sofitel and Sofitel Queenstown is one of the best in the chain. The service is personal from the minute you walk in the door. You are seated in a beautiful lobby area and treated like a VIP no matter who you are. We had our 11 yr old son with us and the staff offered to send him up a hot chocolate immediately.
We booked a suite so our son could sleep on the pull out bed in the lounge area. Excellent in room amenities including mini bar and coffee machine. The bathroom was luxurious and had a TV above the bath (my husband was very happy). The toiletries are the best of any hotel I've ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable.
We had access to Wi-Fi and the club lounge. Free wine and snacks in the bar from 5 til 7pm.
Breakfast was included and it's one of the best spreads. The staff were very friendly and attentive (our favourite was Lorenzo), offering us coffee and anything else we required.
The hotel is right in town. Excellent location, with the bus stop outside for most of the main attractions like Shotover jet etc.
The Sofitel is all class. It's more expensive but you get what you pay for. Luxury and great service.

Room Tip: Any room is a good room at Sofitel

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. Which was just lovely, as we were staying for 5 nights. We were put onto the top floor, with magnificent views of the lake and mountains. The views were breathtaking, the rooms were spacious and furnished beautifully. An absolute credit to housekeeping is the immaculate cleanliness of the rooms, especially the luxurious marble bathrooms. The location of the hotel is another absolute plus. It is right in town, you can just walk out the door to go out for dinner, drinks, shopping, sightseeing and more drinks.
The staff at the hotel are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The bar downstairs is a great place for a pre or post dinner drink with great wines by the glass.

Room Tip: Top floors have the views.

This was one of the most luxurious hotels I have stayed in. The staff could not have been more helpful, and the room was over the top. The bathroom was gorgeous, the beds were very comfortable, and there was a small balcony that looked out onto the mountain and the lake. The restaurants were great, especially breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel!
