“Great View, Great Place, Highly Recommended !!!”
Reviewed 1 February 2014

My wife and I stayed here for a night en route to Milford Sound last week.

We had the lakeview studio and the view was breathtaking :)
The room were clean and spacious and located within walking distance to town centre.

The owner were friendly and informative.
It was also the first time I checked in a hotel using an ipad :)
My only regret is that we stayed at this hotel for only 1 night

I now know why Earnslaw Lodge had a really good review on Trip Advisor !!

Did stay at Earnslaw lodge during our Queenstown visit. Room was clean and tidy with comfortable queen bed. We also booked cooked breakfast to have hassle free morning. Eggs, bacon, tomatoes etc. all cooked well. Once we are back in Queenstown we are definitely going back to Earnslaw. I do recommend this place to stay in.

We stayed three nights in a lake-facing studio and were overwhelmed by the view. The room was spacious and comfortable, but spartan. We expected this, as it was clear from the booking that little more than tea and coffee making facilities would be provided. However, Lynley and Phil were very accommodating in providing us with a microwave, crockery and cutlery when they became available. We were at Earnslaw Lodge for New Year's Eve. We were able to see the fireworks from the balcony, but without the fuss of going into town. We took advantage of the track along the shore of Lake Wakatipu to walk into town, and away from it. We would recommend staying at Earnslaw Lodge.

It's a long pending review from a trip with memories still fresh in our mind. We stayed in a studio room facing Wakatipu. And the view was something that we still relish to the fullest and often draws us to plan our next trip there. A 180 degree view of the majestic lake, the tranquil island in the middle and the Reamarkable range at the other side was really priceless. Location wise it's perfect as all the major tour operators can pick up/drop at the door step and it's a 8-10 min stroll to downtown area. However, we used to take a longer walk along the lake shore. Host and hotel staffs were quite friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious. And as per amenities, we did not have any thing to complain during our 3 night stay.

Room Tip: Book lake view room - worth the extra money.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment, which accommodated our family of 5, with 3 single beds in the second bedroom. If you want great 180 degree views of Lake Wapatipu, only a short walk to town and low prices this is the place! You would not get a better view for $1000 a night. Also the hosts are very friendly and the rooms very clean.
If you want modern décor, a convenient kitchen layout and the latest appliances, you would need to go somewhere else. Also the balcony is shared, not private, which is a pity.

We spent four nights at this great motel. The people running it were so helpful. The location was perfect, only a 7 minute walk from central queenstown.

All in all a perfect place to stay whilst in queenstown.
