Excellent room. Within easy walking distance of Queenstown. Quiet and spacious room. Helpful staff as we were able to go into room when we arrived early and stored luggage for day on leaving. Stayed three nights and found very pleasant.

We were lucky enough to find this by chance when we had been let down by a holiday park in Queenstown. Three of us shared a large, ground floor studio room over a busy weekend in August. The room was spotless, well equipped and the staff were very helpful. About a 10 minute walk into Queenstown, the location is good - although it is a fair climb up the hill back from the town. The only downside was the room was adjacent to the hotel back door - which is the after hours entrance - so there was some noise late at night.

Room Tip: Try and get one away from the back door.

As a family of four we felt the studio was plenty big enough and quite comfortable. It was clean and tidy upon arrival and the bottles of wine a nice touch.

The only complaint we had, some other guests made a hell of a noise from 4:00am both mornings of our stay which woke the whole family. The receptionist said she'd mention it to management after the first occasion however this either didn't occur or made no impact on the other guests.

Upon our departure, we mentioned it again as the excessive noise was still going at 10:00am to which the manager gave a couldn't care less response.

We would have score Hurley's much higher if it wasn't for their apathetic attitude to their other (ignorant) guests.

We only stayed one night at Hurleys as our 7 night booking at another hotel was reduced to one. We had just arrived in Queenstown and staff at Hurleys were amazing - gave s free bottles of milk for our thirsty little girls and lots of information about our stay. The apartment was spacious, king sized bed, spa bath - representing great value. We moved to our main hotel afterwards and preferred Hurleys. Only downsie is that it would be slightly further walk into town with a pram but if you have a car or kids that can walk that's no problem. Thanks to the excellent help at reception, Justin and Andrea

Please take my advice and do not stay at this hotel, anywhere else would surely be better. We booked this hotel because we thought the rooms looked spacious in the photos. We were incredibly disappointed to be given a room so small that I couldn't pull my bag pass the bed and into the room. Our window faced directly into a brick wall which made it incredibly dark and dreary. Everything in the room has not been replaced since the 70s, the bed is awful and saggy. Heating isn't really provided in the rooms, just an oil heater in the cupboard which you can plug in. The worst thing by far was how awful the lady at reception was (I assume the owner). She was incredibly rude. The reception is sometimes shut and locked up during the hours advertised as being open. It seems the owners have no concept of customer service or how to run a business. The hotel is not particularly close to the town but walkable. If you can get this hotel for a very cheap price and you won't be using the room much, you may be happy to stay here. We paid quite a lot for it so were even more resentful. Do not trust the photos online!! I wish I had taken some photos to post here but I was in too much of a rush to get out of there!

Room Tip: It seems very hit and miss, not sure what you can do to get a good room, I wouldn't risk it!

Hotel was located up the top of a steep hill. But it was fairly close to town (5-8 min walk). The reception staff were great. Booked our tours for us (even the ones they hadn't heard of).

Booked a Studio room which had a kitchenette, lounge, coffee table, small dining table. Quite spacious. Only real complaint is the bed could do with replacing. After 4 days my back started to ache as did my boyfriend's however we are both used to sleeping on much firmer type mattresses. Pricing was pretty good. They gave us our 8th night for free. If you are watching your budget I would recommend this place.

Room Tip: Our room was close to reception. Would of liked it to be a bit further away.

Our 3 night stay at Hurley's of Queenstown was nothing short of great, very good value for money - not posh by any means, but the kitchen was well fitted out, the main room spacious and well kept, and the entire place was clean as a pin. We will definitely stay there again.

Only one small detail left us confused- after our first night we asked for another complimentary small bottle of milk since we'd already used the other one up (we love tea). We got a bit of guff for asking, but did receive another one. The next day we found that the second bottle of milk disappeared from our kitchen by the cleaning staff and we were charged $3.50 for it on our final bill. Small quibble, but it was odd. All that said we'd definitely stay again, for sure!
