“Can't we just stay forever??? Seriously?!?”
Reviewed 16 February 2010

We spent a week here just prior to Christmas, with our 14 and 17 year old kids and it was magical. We booked a 3 bedroom apartment several months prior and guessing that the exchange rate would deteriorate, they allowed us to prepay --which became a major blessing. But when we checked in and were lead to our room...we suddenly felt like lottery winners. The wonderful attendant personally opened the door(while casually mentioning we'd been "slightly upgraded") to the Ben Lomond Penthouse and all 4 of us gasped. WOW!!! And I mean that in EVERY aspect...the furnishings...the gourment kitchen...the massive bar...the rooms...the bathrooms....the gigantic stone deck with hot tub...AND THE VIEWS (Ocean Bay, Mountain ~ including gondola going to the top, village). And every single day it got better!
Rainy day? Free DVD's at the front desk and a huge flat screen/home theater in the room with some takeout from one of the great restaurants a block or two away! Sunny? Reading a great book while lounging on the deck (while enjoying the views!). The Glebe's location was second to none! We had an SUV and used the location to pack more than we've ever packed into any vacation -- without it being rushed or stressful ~ we just woke up each morning, checked the weather and decided what sounded best. "Thrillogy" 3-jump Bungy-jumping for the kids? Check. Jet boat ride up the mining creek? Check. Wine tasting? Check. Private plane flight to Milford Sound cruise? Check. Luge racing and spectacular buffet on the mtn? Check. ATV tours on a huge cattle ranch? Check. World class lunch with wine pairings specially created by the chef served outdoors (A Glebe recommendation!)? Check. Shoping at great local markets and making tremendous dinners at home? Check. Having drinks in a bar made completely of ice? Could have but didn't!
And the staff completely blew us away. They were not only wonderful to deal with, but a tremendous source of information and help. We've been blessed to travel all over the world, and I'd still rate this stay as one of the very best I've ever had with absolutely NOTHING I could have improved upon! Except that we had to leave!!! We'll be back!!!

I spent many hours choosing our apartment in the middle of last year when we decided to go to Queenstown for Christmas. After persuing all of the apartments reviewed on tripadvisor I chose Glebe. We were not disappointed. We were upgraded to a penthouse which meant we had the most superb view over Queenstown and our own hot tub on the balcony. We were with our two teenagers who ended up having their own king size bed and bathroom each - what luxury. The only squabble was for the room with the TV.
A Christmas tree was installed at our request and all was set for a perfect week!
The kitchen was magic- and we were able to cook up a Christmas Day lunch with no hitches.
Thank you Glebe for making our stay so enjoyable. We certainly will visit again.

Stayed in the Glebe over New Year. Were in a very big 2 bedroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher) and laundry. Could not fault the apartment but it was on the lower ground floor and the corridor to get to it was dark and dingy and felt a bit isolated. Bed was very comfy and the bathroom very well equipped with a lovely powerful shower. Overall a very good stay. The Glebe is situated just at the top of the town within a10 minute walk to the harbour.

Our family stayed at The Glebe for four nights over the new year period 2009-2010. We found it to be comfortable and roomy with a good kitchen. There was plenty of space in the three bedroom lake view though the view of the lake is a bit limited. The main bedroom was very dark but we were only there morning and night as there is so much to do in Queenstown so this was not a big concern. It was great to be close to the centre of town over new years as it meant we could walk to the fireworks which were wonderful over the water and mountains. The shops and restaurants are easy walking to but the walk back is steep. Felt the internet could have been free. Service was superb with rooms made up each day and the staff very friendly and helpful.

We felt right at home as soon as we got to the Glebe.
Staff were helpful and friendly and our 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment was fantastic! Apartment was well serviced daily and was very clean, modern and spacious.
Great balcony area too.
I would love to stay at the Glebe again if I got the chance. :)

After driving around the South Island for the better part of 2 weeks it was really nice to be able to stay somewhere where you can leave the car and just walk everywhere. Parking can get very tight in Queenstown and the location of the Glebe is excellent from that perspective. Some of the other apartments in Queenstown have better views but are much further away from the centre of town and therefore not as convenient.
We found our 4 bedroom apartment quite comfortable but a bit dated. The bathrooms were good but having to worry about the fire alarms in the showers was a bit of a pain. Value was only average as it was quite pricey. TV coverage was also average. Also. it faced Stanley Street which gets quite a bit of traffic noise. When we enquired whether we can move the front desk was quite helpful but unfortunately the only other available apartment only had 3 bedrooms so we stayed put.
I would recommend this place overall but for the money I would perhaps try somewhere else albeit ensuring it was also close to the centre of town.

We stayed here 1 night and wished we could have stayed longer. There were just two of us and we originally payed for a 1 bedroom but we were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment. It was so spacious and so wonderful to stay in a real home after being in cramped hotel rooms for a week. This would be a great place to stay if you had a large group or travelling with family. Or if you just have the money and want to splurge. It was not that expensive for what you get it. I thought it was affordable for the location and it was just a lovely place to stay.
