“Great place, well located”

This campervan park is very well located a few hundred metres walk to the CBD, waterfront and gondola. Very quiet but close to all the action. Mainly caters to tourist campervans which seem a bit cramped but there are excellent studio and 1 bdrm units too. We stayed in a self-contained family unit. Highly recomended.

Usually prefer staying on non-commercial campgrounds or freedom camping, but in this instance we needed a place close to town. Of the - typically rather cramped - commercial camping places, this surely is one of the better options. Very friendly staff, and great facilities. As it is quite like in a Sardine can, you heavily depend on considerate neighbours, though. We were lucky in this regard. Can't beat the location - everything in walking distance, with supermarket and highly recommended Mediterranean Market just across the road . Would stay there again for one night, if I needed to be in Queenstown in a campervan.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a camper van. The sight was at capacity with every space full. The sights were really packed in, literally enough space to open your door and that was it. They seem to go over the top with the water sprinklers. When we arrived at our small pitch there was a sprinkler drenching it which we had to turn off. It then made getting in and out of the van a muddy experience.
Worst thing was the lack of toilet facilities. As a female I had access to 5 toilets - this is simply not enough for the amount of people staying at the place and queues were frequent. OK there were querky features such as a water well but an extra toilet would have been preferable.
On the plus side it is in a good location within walking distance to the town centre and its many attractions.

Strange little campsite in a great location. Sites are tiny with little space between vans. Toilet facilities are odd, lots of effort on decor but only 1/2 toilets per block means long waits for toilets and showers.

I had heard this place was good, but I hadn't heard exactly WHY...
We rocked on up in an oversized motorhome and were badly in need of a hot shower. Facilities were clean and the decor was incredibly clever. As for location: a quick, easy stroll to the lake, town and Gondola.
Recycling and sustainability are the name of the game and so you'll encounter BBQ areas that are fashioned with a multitude of taps, pipes and tractor chairs, as well as an old-fashioned cooking range with hotplate.
A crystal clear stream runs along one side of the campground but happily – sand flies were nowhere in sight.
Ask to see the Ladies Spa Room and the Men's Brewery. See how many bath tubs, urinals and toilets you can see decorating appropriate spots as signage.
Sounds odd but when you see it, it's darned clever and makes this one of the most fascinating camping grounds I've visited,
Did I mention they're Green Globe, EarthCheck and Qual Mark certified?

We stayed in unit 11 and during the night we were twice woken by an intense flash of light within our room. This was not an external sensor light as our curtains were drawn. The flash was so bright it woke us on both occasions. In the morning our bedside lamp was switched on but not by us. . . Very spooky!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention when you checked out and we are sorry that you had a disturbed nights sleep. After your comments we approached other guests who had stayed the nights before your stay and who returned to stay again in the same unit some nights after. They assured us they had not experienced anything going bump in the night! Nor any strange happenings with bright lights.
This particular unit has been part of our park for the last 10 years and is a very popular one, it is occupied most nights of the year and as yet yours is the first comment of this nature. We will however keep a close eye on things.

After touring New Zealand in a campervan I've become quite the expert on campervan sites - and Creeksyde in Queenstown is the 'creme de la creme' for sure. Not only do they have all the facilities and plenty of BBQ sites, where everything is clean and well looked-after (you see their maintenance staff all over the camp grounds all day long, so bathrooms and such areas are always clean and tidy!) - but the site in itself is amazingly cozy and esthetically designed with plenty of trees, hidden away sites to park and interesting design features. They even have an award-winning 'tromp de l'oeil'-designed bathroom and showers that qualifies as a Queenstown-experinece in itself! Apart from the fantastic and friendly staff that is always ready to help and answer any questions you might have, my favorite details are the small things like free showers with floor-towels, plenty of laundry facilities with ironing boards and drying lines outdoors and easy to work-BBQs with adjoining sinks to do your cleaning up in one spot. All in all, Creeksyde is not only the best camping groung in Queenstown, but also the best out of the ones I've been to in all of NZ. You won't be disappointed. And did I mention it is also close to town?
