“Great staff but sterile hotel”
Reviewed 24 April 2011

Very friendly staff, but hotel room design is so fashionable it is sterile. Sort of like those model homes you see in architect magazines. Pretty but unlivable. Cold bare floors. Super cool bathroom sink had just tiny place to set things down. And is a toe banger as well. Bathroom light switch on bed controls, ( I guess for safety.) No light above toilet.

And while rooms very clean room maintenance was lacking. Room safe battery was dead. HVAC heat was not working and sink stopped up. Staff did fix promptly though.

Nice kitchenette area.

a first class hotel all the way,,, Jackie @ the front desk is 'on the ball'... The owners Peter and Robin and John and Kristine are first rate and take great interest in their guest at cocktail hour that is provided by the hotel... location is perfect as is a two block walk to town yet is in a quiet neighborhood,,,, don't miss it.... ska tucson arizona

I was in the second week of my honeymoon, having previously stayed in luxurious hotels in Australia. This boutique hotel completely hit the ball out of the park and smashed my expectations, even in comparison to a hotel at 3x the price in Hamilton Island.

Upon checking in I was convinced that the owners were taking care of us, but no, these were just the employees. On the final light we did indeed meet the owners and we clearly understood where the high levels of care and service came from.

Upon returning to the states we have already told everyone to visit New Zealand, and to, without a doubt stay here.

And aside from the awesome room with electric shades, we absolutely loved the complimentary drinks and canapes from 6-7 each night.

First, let me say that Queenstown is an amazing city so I would encourage tourists researching their trip to consider spending about two to three days here. Our hosts were very kind and our room was very modern, comfortable, and stylish.

We were facing the street and we had some people that were noisy until fairly late and you can hear the vehicle traffic on the street side. So I would encourage people to try and get the rooms on the side facing the lovely rugby field.

The lady that checked us out was kind enough to give my girlfriend some of the lovely hair conditioner. She was very sweet to do that for us. They also allowed us to have a late checkout. This hotel was the most expensive we stayed at in New Zealand but this is to be somewhat expected because Queenstown is really an amazing city with fantastic activities and restaurants.

We chose this hotel after looking at TA reviews and hoping for a good position in relation to the town, larger than average rooms and comfort. We would usually choose an apartment.
This is a most attractive boutique hotel. The service is outstanding from Donna, Ruggi and the team. We were given early check in and late check out which was much appreciated,, excellent advice about activities, and generally nothing was too much trouble. However, the service was not at all intrusive.
We liked the evening cocktail and canape hour very much. Donna organized a massage for me which was excellent and reasonable in price-would definitely recommend.

Our room ( number 8) was much larger than average, had a couch and chairs and opened on to a sunny pleasant courtyard. It was a pleasure to go back to the hotel for a rest. Rooms also contain a small but very efficient kitchenette with a microwave, hob etc allowing simple meals to be prepared. The room had modern but rather dim lighting and in this style of room, wardrope space was sparse. Bedding was good and athough the hotel is on a fairly busy road, we did not hear any significant street noise at night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Well done Donna and team.

What a great place to stay! Staff were fantastic. Helpful in every sense. The canape and wine hour in the evening is a lovely idea and a perfect opportunity to relax and chat with other guests. The breakfast was unbelieveable. Free parking is located under the hotel for guests. The rooms are decorated well with a trendy decor - black and white. Highly recommend this hotel as well as Queenstown generally!

Queenstown is maybe too a tourism town: but it's not my subject here. If you want stay there you can find anything but try to choose one of the gem: quuenstown park hotel. By defintion a boutique hotel (small, design, relaxed but with high standards). The rooms are nice, bright, modern, tatsefully decorated. The parking is free. You are staying in the center of the town. You are staying in a relaxed ambiance far from the ambiance of the 5star hotel (but you are staying in a nearly 5 stars accomodation) and far from the home feeling of a BB. The personnal is really nice and available. Why look an other place? Maybe a small bad point: the breakfast area: too simple, and a food not with the same level....To be upgraded
