“Chic, moderate, and great bed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2011

Located near the downtown and located near a rugby park. The place is modern, chic, and rooms are large. The hotel is quiet, but very comfortable, and the beds are wonderful. The best beds on the planets. There is small kitchen built into the wall which you can use for coffee, and there a small refrigerator for snacks, wine, or other drinks. Free WIFI. Located near Gondola for the winter would be great because you would be close. Free wine at 5 PM. Lake beach is only 5 minute walk. Excellent staff. No pool & no room service. No fitness center, but gym nearby at Queenstown Gym. Free parking.
Would recommend this property.

Queenstown, as a city, is very overpriced. The Park Hotel is very close to the city center and thus is convenient. It does not have any views of the lake. Due to its proximity to the downtown the street can be quite noisy in the morning and evening (and the room windows are quite close to the street). Yet, the longer I stayed there the more I enjoyed it and felt quite comfortable there. The staff is quite friendly and helpful.

Expensive, but very good value. Staff are welcoming and familiar but professional. Rooms are superb. Breakfast excellent and surprisingly low cost. Just a few minutes walk from the centre. Would most definitely go back.

Very clean and modern accommodation with a very warm and friendly host and hostess. They arranged all bookings and took care of all of our external excursions. Loved the evening (6:00 sharp) wine and canapes relaxing in the lobby/lounge. Very personal attention sets this apart from a large hotel and chains. Looking forward to visiting again.

Service was great and staff friendly and helpful. Location close to center of town. However the remarkable view room title is misleading as the apartment is on Ground level with the remarkables obstructed by trees from the adjacent queens town park.

Sorry but I just don't understand how this could be the best hotel in Queenstown. Had one room that was right up against the street with noise and no privacy (people walking by and looking in) . We were moved downstairs. I was very thankful but ultimately this room was just as noisy with people and cars going by right outside the room. The sink and toilet in the room are separated from the rest of the room by a sheer curtain so no privacy at all. Don't turn on the light in the bathroom at night if you want to avoid lighting up the whole room and having your bathroom activities on full display. Also, if you want fresh air, the windows do not open, only a door going out to a patio, which could not remain open at night due to security reasons. Bed was comfortable. Overall the hotel was overpriced considering other hotels we saw (and stayed in) in Queenstown. One last point. We met a couple in Abel Tasman who had just stayed at the hotel and were also disappointed given the great reviews they had read. Turns out we had the same experience. I think there are better places to stay in Queenstown

We stayed here for 2 days in December. The hotel is very central taking only 2 minutes or so to walk into Queenstown and it's a very attractive building with free underground parking.

The room that we had was really spacious and great in terms of its decor and facilities - couldn't really have asked for any more and we found the staff in the hotel to be really friendly and professional. It's an excellent place to stay.

My only "negative" about the hotel is that the rate is not cheap and yet the hotel still wants to charge extra for breakfast and this was one of the few places we found in New Zealand that tried to do this.

Because of this, we chose not to eat breakfast in the hotel but, instead, ate breakfast at the Vudu cafe in Queenstown which is fantastic :-) If the hotel put the breakfast into the rate then I think that would be more reasonable and would make it the perfect place to stay in Queenstown.
