“A Great Choice in Te Anau”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

Great service, warm and cosy with an excellent lunch menu. This restaurant was a local's suggestion so it must be good. We all had different choices from Seafood Chowder to Pasta to Wedges and it all came out presented well, piping hot and it was jolly good food. Would definitely try this place again and the Thai born waitress was the best. Thanks again.

“Happy to recommend this restaurant”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

We used their advertised deal of a "light" meal with drink for $20. We were delighted with the food quality. Portion size was huge, so we could not empty our plates. Service was very good and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

“Nice atmosphere with disappointing food”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

The atmosphere is quite nice, also the service is not too bad. The problem is the food. We were two persons and ordered a lamb burger and a vegetarian cheese fettuccine. The burger's been cold, had no flavor unless the meat smack of older sheep instead of lamb. The cheese sauce was definitely an instant one (probably a cheap one), sorry but very disgusting. I don't wonder why they haven't been asking how we'd like it. (Beside the fact that the garlic bread was missing - the waitress afford discount.) If I consider the price, they shamed themselves. A real shame. At least the beer was cold, thanks.

“Wow”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Well this was a little surprise. We stopped for breakfast and was greeted and looked after by the lovely Amanda. The food was unbelievable, great CRISPY BACON. We spoke to a couple who had had dinner the night before and they loved that so much they were back the next day. Amanda was so friendly that my daughter has done the FaceBook friend thing. Highly recommend.

“Recommended to us by locals”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Fat Duck was recommended to us by many locals, including our B&B hosts. We went on a very cold night, it seemed like the heat wasn't working in the restaurant. We had to get up and move away from the windows and keep our coats on just to stay warm. My husband had the "hot pie" which he loved. I had pasta which I thought was ok.
