We ended up in the Fiordland Cinema on a Snow day last week. We really enjoyed this short 30 minute film on the area. New Zealand is an amazing, beautiful country and this film says it all.

“Cosy comfy small cinema..loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

Going to the cinema was definitely not in my agenda while visiting Te Anau but during my journey at Doubtful Sound, a local strongly recommended us to go watch a short film about Fiordland - Ata Whenua which means Shadowland. I was intrigued and I got some spare time after returning to town from Doubtful Sound before catching the late bus to the next city. So why not? And it's a short film for only about 35 mins so...let's go check it out!

Fiordland Cinema is a small cinema but it's very comfy, cosy and I really liked it! The seats were comfortable, it's clean and the staff were friendly too. And the movie..WOW! Spectacular! It totally showcases the beauty and majestic landscapes of Fiordland National Park and its power of nature is clearly projected through the big screen. It's got amazing soundtracks that really put you in the zone. I really felt as if I was actually there! I was awe-struck. The movie was beautifully directed and has amazing colors and sounds. Breathtaking! You really got to see it! If only it was a 2 hr movie...that'd be awesome!!!! :-D

It really gave me the chance to see how lucky NZ is to be blessed with such diverse nature. The film also shows what most ppl don't get to see for various reason, either due to location wise or time wise or money wise HAHAHAHA
cos seriously to see ALL OF THAT....you need to fly over or hike for days or whatever. And someone needs to foot the bills to do all that..Hahaha

Anyway you got to see this film. It's an amazing short film. The tix was $10. They also sell the dvd for $35 which I bought and totally thought it's a great purchase.
