Te Anau Kiwi Holiday Park

We stayed here for one night in our camper van. Site appeared well equipped with a large kitchen/lounge area. As it was raining heavily on the day of our stay, we cooked in the van so I can't comment on how busy they got. Small number of showers, which unfortunately appeared to have run out of hot water when I attempted to use them. The site is within walking distance of a supermarket and the small town which has a handful of restaurants and shops.

Thanks for review and I'm sorry you ran out of hot water. As our hot water is all gas operated I'm not sure how this happened, I'll get the handyman guys to check it over and make sure it's all running ok.

Motel ok, good rooms, with little kitchen, centre, if you can talk about a centre, is 3 minutes. The "city" is not a city, even not a village. But it's the place where you sleep to go to the Milford sound. Otherwise you travel from Queenstown, 3 hours earlier up and 3 hours later at home

This was one of the cleanest camping ground I have ever been to. Super friendly staff made our stay very pleasant. They made a call and booked a ferry in Milford Sound for us so we didn't need to worry about that. Lovely green grass and old trees around the camping site made us felt that real holiday had begun! Highly recommended to all camper lovers!

We spent three night here over New Year's and found it to be a great property at very reasonable prices. To start off, we were given an upgrade when we arrived as there was a mapping problem between Booking.com's rooms to their actual rooms. The rooms were clean with good amenities, especially the cooking facilities. The property was also at a great location, making it very convenient to visit both Milford and Doubtful sound.

Only issue we ran into was their internet - we paid 7 bucks for one day's internet but it never worked.

We camped here for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year and didnt' have any problem with the number of showers etc available, even though it was peak time. Found the facilities to be very good and clean. Great location handy to town. Friendly service. The only downside and the reason this is getting three stars instead of four or more is that they have their most noise sensitive accommodation (tents) mostly right next to the highway. It's obvious looking at the site that there is no choice in the matter, as the rear of the site is mostly sealed hard stand and parking (some big tents do get located to the rear which looked like it had powered sites). The tenting area at the front of the site is well maintained grass which is great, but we needed ear plugs for when the Milford Sound-bound traffic starts early in the morning. To be fair, it wasn't noisy in the middle of the night.

Thanks for your review and I'm sorry you found the mornings noisy. Our larger tents that are situated out the back are regular guests that come every year, book well in advance and have requested power and get charged accordingly. We are aware of the road noise in the mornings and do try to accommodate tents in other sites when our powered sites are not so full. If you are thinking of coming back again please contact us in advance and we will try our best to get a quieter site for you.
Kind regards

Nice park, but amenities way too few for the number of campers they cram in. First time in my entire life where I've seen the male bathroom having up to half an hour queue! 64 camping spaces, 5 female toilets & 4 showers, does NZ not have some guidelines to the ratios that need to be achieved?
