“A Taste of New Zealand”
Reviewed 4 April 2014 via mobile

We were in Te Anau recently to visit Millford and Doubtful Sound and stayed at Bella Rosa for several nights. We got curbside pickup for the trip to Doubtful Sound and Gilly packs the best box lunch in town. Gilly and Brent are gracious hosts. Their pets, Coco (a Papillon) and Oscar (a Persian cat), will meet you at the door and welcome you into their home. If you enjoy the intimacy of staying in a private home, as opposed to a hotel, and the opportunity to make new friends, then this is the place to stay! P.S. Be sure to ask Brent about his Jet Boat.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Brent and I are pleased that you all enjoyed your stay at Bella Rosa and time in Fiordland. It is important for us to share what is available to allow guests to get the ultimate experiences (and tastes of NZ) in the area. We are pleased that the packed lunch box was the "best", as its important to have the supplies ready to hand, to keep up the energy levels for that big day in Doubtful Sound. We look forward to catching up again real soon, whether thats at Bella Rosa or us coming to see you in the States. Once again thanks for supporting Bella Rosa by taking the time of writing your review.

Staying at the Bella Rosa was like being with old friends, except you don't have to help with the dishes.
Beautiful, friendly, clean and comfortable, but at the same time, professional.
I would recommend it to anyone.

Gill and Brent are wonderful hosts. The house is fantastic. The chat is a delight and showered the fine wine. And we won lessons of rugby! In addition, Brent is right: the Fiordlands are the best playground in the world! thank you for the perfect stay.

Thank you for your review. It is pleasing to read that you enjoyed staying at Bella Rosa. Part of the kiwi hospitality is to welcome guests in a friendly manner, something that comes easy to both Brent and I. It was great to be able to watch some rugby and be able to give the knowledge on the game! Brent is always out in the playground and something he does like to share with guests, as you are right, it is the biggest playground to enjoy. We are thrilled you had a perfect stay and look forward to your return with your family.
Once again thank you for taking the time to write your review.

We had a lovely stay at Bella Rosa B&B! We got there later than planned on the first night. Gilly and Brent set us up nicely to gain access to the room and had a yummy cheese plate and wine waiting for us. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom impeccable. The breakfast was delicious with homemade muffins. For an additional charge, we had a delicious lunch prepared for us for our long drive to Milford Sound. Gilly's recommended stops along the drive were also on point. After coming home late, Gilly had our towels warming for us. The service was above and beyond anything we anticipated. We would highly recommend Bella Rosa, great home, amazing attention to detail and genuinely good people.

This bed & breakfast is owned and run by Gilly and Brent who are two of the most wonderful people my wife andIhave ever met. From the moment we stepped into this b&b we felt at home in warm and friendly atmosphere.
Gilly makes the most wonderful muffins served daily with breakfast.
Both Gilly and Brent have an extensive knowledge of the area and their suggestions for things to do and what to see were right on target.
My wife and I could not have been more pleased with our stay at Bella Rosa.

We have just had a lovely stay at Bella Rosa and would like to thank Gill And Brent for being such wonderful hosts. Such a great welcome with an offer of a glass of wine and a scrumptious deli platter, we felt Rey comfortable and at ease within minutes of our arrival.

Our room was very pleasant with a very comfortable bed and plenty of wardrobe space, chocolates and water also provided. Our only complaint was we didn't stay long enough.

Thank you Gill and Brent for your hospitality, we so enjoyed our stay with you both and thank you for the advice regarding our onward travel plans and also for the red wine I enjoyed at Doubtful Sound. If we'd are in South Island again we shall certainly come and stay for longer next time. You have a beautiful home, lovely people and wonderful pets!

My fiance and I stayed at Bella Rosa in February 2014 for three days. Gill was so lovely and accommodating and really took care of us. She was able to advise us on local Te Anau and the Fiordland/Otago regions, which included restaurant recommendations and bookings for day tours to Milford and Doubtful Sounds.

The B & B is PRISTINE. Gill takes great pride in Bella Rosa and-- truly-- the place is right out of a designer home magazine. Our room was great -- plenty of space, locally made chocolate truffles (yum!), and soft robes. Fresh-cut flowers from the garden smelled so nice, hands-down the best shower I had on my holiday around South Island, and there is nothing like a glass of chilled wine and prepared snack tray after a long day! Each morning, breakfast is prepped and ready -- including delicious fruits, muffins, yoghurt, muesli, coffee/tea, juice, and more.

My fiance and I both agree that Bella Rosa B & B was an excellent place to stay and we highly recommend this lovely place to anyone who is interested in Te Anau and/or Fiordland National Park (including Milford & Doubtful Sounds). Cheers!
