I came to stay here with some trepidation, after reading previous trip advisor reports. I emailed in advance to ask for a ground floor room, they did not respond so I thought they had not got it. They had received it and had acted on my request. We were offered help with our luggage but did not need it. Reception staff are all very friendly and helpful, plus very patient as they get constant requests from people on how to work the internet, even though it is actually very easy. However free wifi is only available for 20 minutes per day in the lobby. This is a bit limiting when you are here for several days. Darren and Lyn were particularly helpful.
Parking, I agree is tight but there was always a parking space somewhere, including a car park in the rear which was very close to our room. There are lots of tour groups here so that is good as they just have a coach which they park in a back road.
The foyer area was fairly small. The restaurant was quiet. We ate there the first evening, the menu was limited. I had read somewhere that they often had crayfish and venison on the menu but it was not there. It was very quiet and lacked any atmosphere. Service was OK but not brilliant. We had breakfast once there. The continental was limited. There was no fresh fruit, it was all tinned and a limited choice of pastries. At $15 it was poor value for money.
Our room was a decent size with a view of the rear car park. There were 2 beds, a double and single. They seemed comfortable at the time but we woke with some backache. There was a table, 2 chairs, solid luggage rack, fridge, kettle etc. the bathroom was small but adequate with plenty of towels. The shower was over the bath and extremely efficient.
