Good points - We spent three nights here in two separate stints at the beginning of a hike and in between hikes. Spacious room for three and fully self contained. Restaurant looked nice though we didn't eat there. The 'village' look was quite appealing and gave the place some character. Location was ok - Close to shops, bars, restaurants, and a big park with gardens across the road, lake down the road. Staff were friendly and they let us store our non-hiking gears in their garage in between the Milford track and Routeburn track hikes which was great because after we got out of the Routeburn we returned to pick up our gears and carried on with the rest of our Sth Island holiday.
Not so great - I thought the washing and drying machines were a bit steep at $5 per load each, but I suppose they were commercial machinery so were larger. However, $20 later it seemed a bit steep. Could've done with a clothes line because the weather was absolutely brilliant. Overall, enjoyed our stay here and would go back if visiting the region again.
