Originally we had booked into a two bedroom villa, however these were still not available as they were still being renovated. We found this out a few days before we arrived which was nice to be notified but we were worried about the rooms we would be staying in considering we had done research and booked the villas specifically - but not much could be done about that. The rooms we were given had a view of the lake but were very dated inside. Staff were very nice and the access to wifi in lobby was helpful. Hotel was very busy with large tour groups which at times made the lobby very crowded. I would consider staying here again to have our stay in the villas.

The view from our room was spectacular. The rooms internally and on the exterior are old and could do with new paint and something to freshen it up a bit. The staff are obliging and very friendly. Nan at reception helped us book a last minute trip to see the glow worms and she made an exceptional impression on us. Was great with follow up to see how everything went.lots of great places to eat in te anau.

Thanks for the room upgrade with superb views.Staff were excellent however a little too enthusiastic when deciding to wake us up on Sunday morning by dragging outdoor chairs across the deck to stack them neatly back in their place. Curtains were still closed for a reason. Also we expected that Sky tv would have been available, at least in the bar area.

Location perfect.

Dear MitTim2013
I am delighted to hear you enjoyed the superb views and found staff excellent. I have passed on comments about chairs and to be a little more thoughtful so early in the morning.
Hopefully we will see you back soon.

We arrived early and were unable to check in (fair enough) so when we went back at 2pm and our room was still not available, we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite! Thanks to the helpful staff. There was an amazing, huge and luxurious bathroom with one of the largest baths I have seen. The accommodation was extremely spacious and ideal for our 8 month old. The views were lovely over the manicured gardens and on to the lake.
The kitchenette was small but had the main things we needed (fridge, toaster, kettle, sink).
Te Anau is a good place to break up the Milford Sound trip as trying to do it all in 1 day from Queenstown when you are driving would be extremely tiring.

Dear EJK80
I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the luxurious suite and views overlooking Lake Te Anau. I agree it is better to stop off in Te Anau as the drive alone from Queenstown is tiring enough even before excursions or boat trips.
I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in New Zealand and had a safe trip back home.

Ideally located in Te Anau next to the Lake and a moments walk from the main road. There was free parking which was ideal for us. You can also can get free wi-fi in the lobby.

The room was very large with two double beds (not needed but nice to have!) The hotel was ever so slightly dated but it didn't matter. The bed was comfy and we slept well. You get what you pay for - that is why I've marked it as average, don't expect luxury but its a good, clean, adequate hotel.

The staff were also very nice.

We would stay again.

Room Tip: We opted for lake view which was a nice bonus at very little extra cost
