Reviewed 28 December 2013

We stayed here overnight on a Saturday after a long road trip and were worried after reading the terrible reviews (hubby booked it without checking , just saw the words Irish Bar'!) and the reviews were so right. the phtots on the website are nothing like reality. The accomm was a dingy room, badly stained carpets and furniture. shower was old but ok. Holes in ceiling & walls, smoke detector broken, shower rail had no bracket one end and balanced on the tiled wall. no remote for tv, had to unplug fridge to use kettle! The bar was noisy with a live band but wasn't too bad to sleep through as the loud air con unit in the room dulled the sound. The staff were lovely & helpful. food was great but the accommodation needs demolishing. Don't stay here.

Room Tip: Don't stay here, it's like a condemned building

I went to Paddys with my expectations not vert high and I certainly wasnt disappointed, the meals were tacky and slow to come out. I ordered a rare steak it came out well done, someone needs to look into the chefs they hire! I wouldnt eat here again rubbish for for prices.

Room Tip: dont order the meals!

Not too bad for what it costs, bit grubby, tiny TV, curtains don't shut, but not even a hot shower that was disappointing! Maybe pay a tad more for the renovated rooms? Probably not worth the chance though!

In a nutshell you wouldn't even take a hooker to the New Albury, for a meal or a stay. The accommodation should be shut down and the kitchen shouldn't be far behind. To top it off staff are terribly rude also.
This reviewers tip is to take your business elsewhere and for a decent pub feed go to Sodens or the Bended Elbow just up the road.

I had the highly unfortunate opportunity to stay at this hotel in late February 2012. In a nutshell this accommodation should be closed down. Band played until 11:45pm and despite several visits from the police the noise levels remained high. My room overlooked the area where the band was playing. The first attempt to get into my room saw me with a key to a room that was already occupied. Second attempt, they had trouble finding a room or a key. Finally they found a key and wished they hadn't. TV remote was missing and the TV didn't work. Air-conditioner was putting out warmer air than was in the room (and yes I di have it on call. Toilet cistern was broken and a large piece missing. Carpets were stained and filthy. When the band finally stopped the resident cockroach/s that were in my bathroom took over and chirped non -stop until 5am! When I woke next morning I had bites on my legs and arms. What a great experience. I acknowledge that this is a pub and what you pay is equal to what you get but this room should be condemned,

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere....
