We stay here each time we are in town for birthdays and events. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Situated right near Beaumont Street, it is perfect for wining and dining. Very reasonably priced and wonderful staff who go out of their way to welcome us.

Great location for us to attend a business function, nice clean rooms with ample space, good parking, quiet and walking distance to Beaumont st (where there is plenty of restaurants and bars), check in was all easy and no complaints about the stay

Like all the other reviews - you really do need to ignore the exterior. The rooms are clean, decent sized and neutrally decorated. Each room has air con, TV, microwave, kettle and fridge. There is parking and secure entry - the main door is locked at 9pm each day.
The lady on reception was extremely friendly and welcoming - along with William the miniature schnauzer.
The breakfast offered is reasonably varied and exceptionally cheap.
If you are staying in newcastle I would definitely recommend this place, its clean and perfectly situated for Beaumont street.

We were staying in Newcastle only the one night. We weren't looking for beachfront, just a nice, clean motel with parking, Internet and easy access to the town. We ended up in the Hamilton area at the Tudor Inn. It was just what we were looking for. The owner was so helpful. I recommend this motel for the traveler who wants a good, clean place to stay.

Friends recommended this place so we thought we'd give it a go when we travelled with them recently.

As we arrived, I thought the exterior quite dreary looking, reception area small (there were two people standing in front of the reception counter and it was a squeeze to fit in). Check-in was so uneventful we had to ask which floor and direction our room was. And off we trudged up the stairs to the second floor .... our room was adequate but on the small side, basic and with a small, private balcony overlooking a sidestreet. Everything was spotlessly clean.

After we'd been for a walk we had a chat with the proprietor about restaurants etc - he was much more animated than when we arrived and gave us some good tips for nearby eateries.

Lots of restaurants and a couple of pubs nearby - location is certainly a real plus for this place, as it is all within very easy strolling distance.

Yes, we'd happily stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on first floor would be best for those with limited mobility as there is no lift.

I lived in the same street as the Tudor Inn for eight years and always thought "why would anyone want to stay there?", that is until I moved from Newcastle to live on the Mid North Coast. I travel back to Newcastle regularly and thought on one particular occasion that I would give it a try. Well, was I surprised to find the exterior does not match the interior. The place, although a little dated, is extremely clean (and I am fussy). It is very quiet, has off-street parking and is located within a short walk to Beaumont Street (Eat Street) but best of all is the reasonable price and the lovely staff. Always able to help with enquires and requests. I don't stay anywhere else when travelling to Newcastle now.
