“Great views,very comfortable restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

I enjoyed a short stay in this hotel recently. The rooms and the bathroom were on the small side when compared to more recently built hotels, but we were comfortable and enjoyed the lovely views.
The restaurant has wonderful views over the ocean and the carpeted floor and lovely soft chairs kept the noise level to a minimum, a rare thing in restaurants these days.
We all enjoyed our meals, the quality was excellent and the service efficient.
Whilst Newcastle beach area is much in need of a facelift, this was a good location and I would certainly stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for an Ocean view room, the views are spectacular.

I stayed here with a work colleague for a conference. We booked on wotif and had good rates, requested twin beds but this was not sorted. On arrival I think there was some rearranging when I confirmed this. There was an OS backpacker also at reception and he managed a great deal with an upgraded seaside room for less than what we paid.the room was average and needs updating . The mirror in the room is dark with poor lighting and hard to do your makeup , The bathroom is a bit grubby with very small vanity area, no decent mirror and the bathroom exhaust is ineffective and quickly fogged up the room. Some refurbishment in the hotel could make a huge improvement as the location is super and the staff friendly and keen to please. If driving, the carpark is compact and in need of a huge makeover but it is complimentary. I would come back but don't agree that this is currently a 4 star place.

I stayed here for 3 nights in October 2013.

I was in Room 415 - this was a mid level ocean view room.

The room was great, bed and pillows very comfy. There was a mini bar and a TV with foxtel.
I didn't have any problems with the décor of the rooms, I thought it was perfectly fine.

The view from the room is amazing, looks over Newcastle beach, which is an awesome spot for a swim, surf, or just a lay around. Very good walking paths around this area too, and the place has a cool vibe in general.

The balcony is not accessible, but you can open your door (it has a restrictor attached) to let in the sea breeze, which is beautiful. The balconies have been deemed unsafe, but really just head outside if you want to enjoy the view, it's not that big a deal.

the shower and bathroom were fine - no problems there.
I didn't eat at Jonah's restaurant, but I did order room service - wedges and bread (you can't go wrong there - very tasty as expected)

I would definitely stay here again.

The only drawback is the price of rooms, but you're paying for an amazing location.

Room Tip: Room 415 - mid level room (floors 3 and 4) - excellent view. I probably wouldn't stay in an upp...

Newcastle is a great City, underrated by many. For a City to have so many spectacular beaches makes it very special and here at Noah's you are directly overlooking the beaches and can see the ships approaching the Harbour entrance. Great restaurants within an easy walk as well as the fun and beauty of the Honeysuckle HARBOURSIDE area.
Hotel also has a great restaurant with a superb chef. When staying try for a room on the upper level to maximize your views. Enjoy....

I agree, some aspects of the hotel need to be refreshed, particularly the decor of the rooms and it would be nice to be able to step out onto the verandah - no access, I assume because the railings are so low (and consequently unsafe) but the view out the window is spectacular and the beach is right there, 20 meters away. We didn't get it at a ridiculously cheap price but it was worth what we paid for two nights and although right beside the lifts we heard nothing all night, no bells, no closing doors, no voices in the corridor. All very peaceful. Bar staff were relaxed and friendly, reception was efficient. Lifts (there are only two) were very slow. Didn't try the restaurant as we went out for fish n chips on the beach one night and to a friend's favourite restaurant on the other but the menu looked very impressive, the restaurant elegant and the view, once again, outstanding!

I've wanted to stay at Noah's for a long time. Heard plenty about it but never actually got there until now. Booked at short notice (again!) on what must have been a slow night, hence the rate ($160) which is well below the usual rate but really, thats all it was worth. Nothing particularly wrong, just a bit out of date- reception lacked a bit of polish, room was smallish and a bit dated, a few rough edges on the paint and carpet. I didn't get one but I imagine the ocean view rooms would be something special. Being able to open a window would be nice.

Must make mention of the restaurant which is up there price-wise but also quality wise- very good food and service and (of course) views.

I could easily spend a summer weekend here. With a bit of a makeover it could be back to 4 Star.

Room Tip: Ocean view probably worth the extra.

I found my stay here extremely relaxing and easy. It was only for a night and day but the staff were very helpful as we paid for an late check-out. The service was friendly, comfortable and easy. I loved the restaurants menu. The food came quickly and was delicious. Although, I was disappointed that the balcony was unavailable due to construction.

The only con is that when I departed my room to go out, the cleaners were in the hall and as we passed them, they sighed and moaned as they hadn't known we were in the room in front of us. It was rude and discomforting, but other than that, the stay was pleasant.
