We have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years when up in the Hunter for family celebrations but I think it was better this time than previously. The room rate is quite reasonable and the quality and layout of the rooms are very comfortable, especially the bed. We chose the harbour view room which provided an interesting view rather than the beach view. We had drinks in the bar on arrival and then ordered a steak burger from room service which was absolutely melt-in-the mouth delicious and cooked to perfection. We'll stay there again.

Room Tip: The choice is the beach view or the harbour view? Depends on how much time you will spend in the ro...

My husband and I spent the weekend at Noah three years ago and we loved every minute of it. We decided to pop in again for just one night and I don't think we will be coming back. The room itself has seen better days but it was clean. The dinner at Jonah's Restaurant was a highlight - both the food and the service were spot on. Breakfast on the other hand was a let down - boring continental brekkie with limited options and instant coffee! Beautiful breakfast a la carte gone! Staff looking bored. Big thumbs down for not communicating to housekeeping which room has late checkout - promised sleep-in interrupted by housekeeping keen to clean up!

We enjoyed our weekend in this hotel which is right on the beach, with beautiful ocean views,
However it was somewhat spoiled by the inefficiency & attitude of staff at checkout.
We had booked online, 2rooms with Oceanview , to attend a family reunion .
On arrival , we paid in full ( staff request) for both rooms & were issued with a receipt .
On checkout, staff were insistent that we had not paid , despite presentation of our receipt, & wasted 30 mins of our time scrutinising their computer . They were terse, unsmiling, ungracious & unapologetic when the issue was finally resolved .
This was a shame, because until then we had enjoyed our weekend. The hotel is clean, comfortable & well appointed.
The only other small disappointment we had was that on returning to the Hotel following a function, at 2200, there was no food available in the restaurant. Apart from melted ice cream .
Considering this is a 4 star property , this was disappointing .

We came to Noah's with high expectations based on things we'd heard and read. What we found when we arrived fell considerably short of what we had been led to expect.
The room itself: there was nothing wrong with it per se, but nothing really all that special about it either. One could have been forgiven for thinking it was a room in a motel as opposed to a hotel. Ordinarily this would not bother me so much, but when we have just paid the better part of $500 for two nights, frankly I expect a bit better.
Particularly when the images on the website gave the impression that streamlined luxury awaited us. Particularly the bathrooms, which appeared spacious and modern. Our bathroom was comically smaller than we had been led to believe, with a low, tiny sink, and hair in the plug hole. There were dead fruit flies frequently appearing beside the sink.

One of the selling points of the deal we bought was complimentary parking. The thing was, there wasn't anything to stop anyone other than paying guests from parking in their lot. There was no boom gate, nor any form of security for our vehicle beyond the lock on the car.

We also tried the room service menu, which turned out to be way overpriced. $18 for a modestly proportioned plate of cheese and crackers. $12:50 for a small bowl of ice cream that was already beginning to melt. Although, to be fair to Noah's, they did give us $100 worth of food service as part of our deal.

On the plus side, the room was comfortable, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The place has potential, it is just in major need of renovations if it is to merit the amount that it costs.

We stayed 3 nights in an ocean view twin room on the 6th floor. The room was fine. It was very clean and housekeeping did a good job each day. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room and floor were very quiet. Great sleep each night.
The bathroom was clean and serviceable. I am not a fan of a shower in the bath, but a mat to stand on in the bath was provided, making the soapy experience feel safer. It was a shame that the balconies could not be used and the door locked so that we were unable to listen to the waves or smell the sea air.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. The parking was a challenge. The size of each parking spot is too small. Tip - there is off street parking next door which is more spread out.
We had a great 3 nights. To wake each morning to watch the surfers in the water was a great treat. The location of the hotel is definitely beach front, close to beach walks and not far from an array of cafes for a quick breakfast or coffee.
We also walked to the wharf for dinner one night. The location of this hotel is sensational.

My sisters and I took my mother to this hotel for her 85th birthday. On arriving we tried to check in. With only 1 person on the desk it took 30mins. I needed to find out if they had disabled parking while my mother waited in the car. They didn't have allocated spots but the parking wasn't too bad. We were on the 6th floor overlooking the beach. The rooms were clean, small and basic. The view was very nice and when we woke up on Sunday morning we watched a large pool of dolphins playing in the surf. We tried to use some of the small bar area downstairs but couldn't find a table as a wedding was on at the hotel and lots of guests had taken up the space. There was nowhere else for 5 of us to sit and have a tea/coffee or drink in the hotel. We ate at the restaurant on Saturday night. It is a very conservative restaurant. The food was lovely and the waiters were attentive without being instrusive. It was a particularly windy and cold weekend in Newcastle and the restaurant was cold. We also couldn't get the heating to work in our room. Lucky it was too small to spend any time in there.

My wife and I went to Noahs on the Beach for our wedding anniversary as we could not find any other nice restaurants open on a Monday in Hunter Valley. When we arrived, a vocal party of 12 or so was the other tables taken and they insisted we be placed next to them. I would have thought a neat well presented couple might placed somewhere a little quieter. We consoled ourselves with the view of the beach as conversation was difficult.
The entrees arrived promptly and were rather nice. The oysters with Salmon were well done as was the Sour dough bread. The mains were a major disappointment though. The lamb I had was 2 miniscule cutlets, with 20 cent piece sized portions of edible meat and a few small vegetables. It was not very well cooked and for $40 should have been an entrée for a pub counter meal. My wifes seafood tasting plate was of adequate size, but not very well cooked, being mostly underdone and not very well presented. Once again, it appeared to be more of a $15 pub counter meal.
After waiting for a long time waiting for wine refills, my wife and I decided to skip desert and head off to complete our lunch date with desert and coffee in a Hunter Valley winery restaurant.
