Brilliant accommodation, perfect for our needs. Young couple in Newcastle for Rise for Alex NRL game. Clean, tidy, affordable ($100/night Sat-Sun). Close to public transport for stadium & airport - recommend public bus to airport, approx. $4 per person from a street 200m from hotel to the airport. Decent walk to nice dining options but worth the walk. Shopping centre for groceries across the road. No excess noise or anything. Will definitely stay again for our next NRL trip.

I stayed as a group for a sporting carnival. The staff were found to be friendly, the room was well appointed, & our meals in the restaurant were value for money & good portion size. The king size bed was firm. Parking was tight. The hotel is in a good location, across from a shopping centre & a good walk to the harbour district. I recommend this hotel.

Found this motel clean & tidy. Rooms were very spacious. Friendly, helpful staff. Had the option to eat at the motel. Close to shops and restaurants. Would stay there again. Walking distance to beach.

We used this hotel as its location was pretty good. Easy access from South of city, walking distance to Darby street (restos) and also to train station and Honeysuckle Drive (nice bars/cafes on waterfront). Hotel though was not clean. Beds were ok, and general cleaning obviously happened but there was an evident lack of eye for detail on cleaning e.g. hoovering around the beds but not under! Walls were not thick, so no lie-ins were possible and bedroom backed on to the recycling area that was emptied at 2am each day. Thought a $15 charge per day for parking was very cheeky. Free parks are outside the hotel if you park afer work hours and remove car early in the morning.

Dear Jo M,

Thank you for your review, we take all feedback seriously. I was glad to read that you enjoyed the location of the hotel & our beds. I will follow up on your comments with our Housekeeping Manager about the lack of detail in the cleaning department. I understand your comment about parking however all hotels in the CBD have a charge for parking & we are one of the cheapest, we have team members on 24 hours a day, we have security cameras & the parking is more secure & away from the road which is why there is a charge to park your car overnight.

I hope that you will stay at Travelodge Newcastle again in the future.

Kind regards,

Megan Stanley
