Having visited orange many time we somehow avoided this place presuming it was typically country town dumbed down Indian, how wrong we were, we finally gave it a go and we were not disappointed.
I can’t vouch for how authentic it is but it is one of the better Indian restaurants we have dined at, a not overly big restaurant situated right next to a IGA the decor is the usual Indian posters etc, the menu is large with all the usual suspect, beef vindaloo butter chicken etc plus a few more I would have liked to have tried like goat curry.
The samosas and onion bhaja were delicious, the beef vindaloo as expected was full of flavour and fiery, the dhal makhani was tasty and delicious as was the chicken tikka and the naans were just Devine fresh from the tandoor
A word of warning, we were asked what level of spice we liked, we said medium, if what we got was medium I would hate to see what hot was like, all the dishes heat levels were bearable, fiery but still bloody tasty. The desserts were the usual suspects, gulab Jamun very nice if not a tad to sweet.
The service was excellent and could not be faulted, the wine list was very small with not much choice and the wine we picked was not the best, hence one star less, you can BYO and to be honest should we visit again, which we no doubt will, we will BYO our own wine next time.
If you like Indian food and happen to be in Orange, this is a must visit
