My partner and I spent several very enjoyable hours here in Spetember 2008 while staying on the nearby Central Coast. They are beautifully maintained and each themed garden is quite different from the one before. You do not have to be a garden lover to enjoy yourself here - neither of us are and we loved it, indeed it was the highlight of our trip!

We visited on a Friday and there were many other people there, incuding several coaches. However due to the sheer size of the gardens it seemed as though there were far fewer. Nonetheless I would not recommend visiting on a weekend as I am sure it would be crowded then.

We packed a picnic lunch and had it at the lovely picnic grounds behind the nearby Hunter Garden Village which I would also recommend. The food prices in the village are not what I would call cheap! Neither are drinks at Pokolbin Village - two small softdrinks cost us nearly $8.

Make sure you bring a camera, comfortable shoes and sunscreen!

Thank Trishek

Beautiful gardens, a must see for horticulturists. Lots to see and a great place to bring kids. Best to visit during off peak so you can take your time in each of the displays. You can easily spend half a day here. The only negative would be the very steep entry price of $22.50 per adult. Have lunch at Taste of the Country which is in the village shops. They do nice old fashioned country-style meals at affordable prices.

“A beautiful and relaxing place”
Reviewed 11 October 2008

My family visited the gardens last week. This attraction is most impressive. We also attended a short talk about the history of the garden which was very interesting and informative. Each of the garden has a themed landscape and each is totally different from the other. We loved all of the gardens, including the Storybook Garden (even if we were no longer kids). We had lunch at the "Garden Terrace Cafe". Being the only food outlet inside the gardens, I was expecting the price to be a rip-off but I was mistaken. The prices were reasonable. The food tasted great and they did not skimp on serving size.

We arrived at 9.10 am on a Tuesday and had the gardens almost to ourselves. We were able to take lots of pictures without any strangers in the background. The place got busier after 10am. Aside from your camera, don't forget to bring a wide-brimmed hat, water and sunscreen.

After the gardens, we visited the Chapel and the Village (shops) which are just a short walk from the entrance to the Gardens.
