I stayed as part of a group over the Easter break. The Sebel is in a beautiful spot, with lovely grounds, and immaculate gardens. My room was small but clean and comfortable. The doors opened up to a verandah which, if it wasn't for the fact that it backed onto the indoor pool building, would have been a delight. Some of the others in our group had amazing verandah views from their rooms so it might be worth asking the staff when booking. Having said that, I didn't spend much time in my room during the stay. The front staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast buffet was delicious and the bar staff great for a chat. The bar has a nice outdoor sitting/garden area to relax with an afternoon glass of wine :-) Overall, a really cosy place to stay and I would definitely stay again.

Dear Louise,
Thank you for your review It is with pleasure that we read about your experience at Kirkton Park. It looks as though you reserved a Heritage room and your friends booked a Delux room overlooking the mountain ranges or a Heritage Superior which has views over the valley. I am happy that you were able to see all the property has to offer and hope you are able to secure on your return one of our Delux rooms so you get this fabulous view next stay.
Thank you for your feedback on our Breakfast offering along with our Bar staff and grounds please know i will share your commetns with our team.
Safe travels we look forward to welcoming you back again.

What a great place to stay. The drive in is tree lined, the view over the valley is beautiful, the rose garden is well looked after and the rooms are quiet with everything you need. The toiletries in the room also need a mention. The staff were so lovely and helpful esp the man at reception. Also the fireplace in the lobby was great to sit and relax around. I’ve stayed in 5 star places and been allot less impressed than here. We hired bikes at the hotel and rode around the wineries. The ride is relatively easy once you reach the bike path down the street. All in all, don’t hesitate to stay here. Great value and a wonderful break.

Dear Lovefinefood,
What a great profile name! We love fine food in the Hunter also and hope that you were able to experience this at The Sebel Kirkton Park. Please accept my apologies for the fact that we only offered our Seafood buffet on Good Friday in our Restaurant. The hotel offered a full menu in the bar and in room dining however, Iapologise this was not communiated to you.
Thank you for the comments on our service and also grounds with 70 acres and over 1/2 an acre of rose gardens we take great pride in being able to offer this unique setting to our guests.
Dont forget Food & Wine month is coming to the Hunter in June we are running Savoury sips and sonnets and hope you will be able to return for this fun event.

Overall quite pleased with our stay at this hotel. Room was good although we could hear the TV of the next room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice views from the balcony. Breakfast was one of the better buffet style breakfasts I have had. Close to wineries and about 8 mins from Cessnock. One improvement I would suggest is to have plunger coffee in the rooms.

The site is breathtaking, just acres of open space a vineyards. A very beautiful location from which to tour the Hunter Valley. The floral gardens are beautiful also. The main lounge is relaxing with a huge fireplace for winter (not firing when we were there) the bedroom a average size but with access to a wide verandah to sit and watch the sunset. Friendly staff, comfortable bed, the breakfast was okay.
