“Just visited Spicers Vineyards Est once again!”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

We have just returned from yet another great stay at Spicers Vineyards Estate with a group of friends.
The grounds of this great resort are absolutely beautiful and just so quiet with no road noise at all. We watched the kangaroos from our upstairs balcony early in the morning whilst sitting outside with our morning coffee (the quality of the coffee and tea provided is first class). This time, we stayed in one of the new suites which is just so spacious with everything you could possibly want and of course, the mini bar is all included in the price and yours to take with you when you depart. In the winter, the bathroom floor has underfloor heating - how gorgeous is that?
There is a new pool, large outside chess game and large draughts game out in the lawn with lovely undercover seating a few metres away – just perfect to sit with a glass of red (or similar) and play the games. If you want a great massage I can thoroughly recommend Bree.
We had a wonderful meal in Botanica on each of the two nights we stayed and their continental breakfasts are the best – fresh mixed juice to start, then a platter of fresh fruit, small home made quiche with chilli jam, poached egg, with cibatta bread, Danish pastries and fresh coffee or tea. What more could you want!!!!
My next reservation will be very soon!
If you have not tried any of this, then you are missing something special.

Room Tip: I Just love the new deluxe rooms which have recently been built - two upstairs and two downstairs at...

A super place to stay if visiting The Hunter Valley. Friendly and very efficient staff with comfortable and spacious rooms makes this a very worthwhile place to stay. The best of the local Hunter Valley wineries are just on the doorstep, making this an ideal place to stay when visiting the area. The on-site restaurant The Botanica serves wonderful food, really delicious dishes packed full of flavour and of a good portion size, using fresh local produce. The guest house is set well back from the road which makes it a quite location. This is really an ideal place for adults / couples seeking a quite and very comfortable escape in the countryside. The only shortfalls for me were the thin-ness of the walls, meaning one could quite clearly hear the neighbours.... The beds also were a little on the hard side. Breakfast is really delicious and wholesome, but limited serving between 8.30am and 9.30am - a little early if you're looking for a holiday lie-in. But all in all a delightful stay and would happily return.

Room Tip: Rooms on ground floor have a little terrace (shared) with tables and chairs outside. However, the up...

Looked after us very well for our recent 4 day visit. Initially had room 2on the ground floor, but had some rather noisy neighbours, so requested a change and they put us in room 7 upstairs which we preffered.

Some really nice touches like cocktails brougt to the room at 6pm. WIfi was free but painfully slow - but having said that you dont go to a place like this to use wifi and I dont mind it being slow when it is free!

Breakfast was very nice and brought to our room for no charge. No charge for some washing too which was kind.

Highly reccomended.

Edwowen,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your stay with us in the Hunter region. We are pleased that we could move you to a room that you thoroughly enjoyed - some guests love our ground floor rooms, some love our first floor rooms, some love the King Spa Rooms and others the Luxury Spa Suites -all for different reasons - and we are so pleased you loved yours.

Glad we could assist with the washing whilst you were travelling - we know this can be a hassle whilst you are travelling and are delighted to offer this compliemtary service to you. So glad you mentioned that the wi-fi was slow as we have looked into it and are now working on upgrading the system so it is a much faster, free service for all of our guests.

Safe travels and we hope to be able to welcome you back again!
Kind Regards,

Beilnda, Mark and the entire Spicers Vineyards Estate team

This is the second time we have stayed at Spicers in the last six months. There has been a steady improvement in room and food quality. We thought that hotel service was something only seen in Europe. Spicers proved us wrong - despite the remote location, nothing was too much trouble - extra water, shampoo, bookings for events.

We look forward to going back in winter.

Room Tip: Try room 2, or one of the new Luxury Suites at the end of the building.

This property is a must. The rooms were spotless and very tastefully decorated. The grounds were so pretty and quiet. The food was amazing. All the little things and attention to detail were so special from the complimentary mini bar, gown and slippers to wear in room while relaxing, coffee pod machine in room, complimentary cocktail in the afternoon delivered to our door, a card in room to congratulate our wedding anniversary. The staff, in particular Emma , Bree and Melissa who looked after all of our needs during the break were wonderful.

The swedish massage treatment is a must.
Well done Belinda and Mark on creating the most magical experience for our wedding anniversary.
I would highly recommend this place and would definitely return for another visit.

Dearest Deb,

We were all so pleased to read your lovely review on your stay with us in the Hunter! Emma, Mel, and Bree were tickled pink to see your special mention of their efforts. Bree is such a wonderful massage therapist and so many guests request her time and time again!

Hopefully you can get away to the Hunter to enjoy another anniversary stay with us as we would love to spoil you again and make you feel right at home!

Warmest wishes,

Belinda, Mark, little Matilda and the Spicers Team xxx

From the moment we arrived Sharon and the team couldn't be more friendly. The complimentary mini bar and cocktail was awesome, the food from the restaurant is a must! The room was absolutely spotless and comfy. We will definitely be back soon and have recommended to family and friends.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights whilst travelling down the East Coast towards Sydney. It was fabulous! The room was great with plenty of space and extra touches. The gardens and surroundings were so beautiful and peaceful. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the little extras like a special cocktail every evening brought to our room or to us by the pool were amazing. We had dinner in the restaurant on our last evening and that was lovely. I only wished we could have stayed a little longer and been pampered even more!
