Room was comfortable and cosy, as expected of a mercure.
The 10minutes walk to hunter valley garden is a great plus for those with young children, especially if you will like to take in the fresh and cooling air.
The other advantage is that it's also within walking distance to other vineyards.
One setback is that only one restaurant is available for dinner, and we are forced to take either a minimum of 2 course dinner. Food service is also slow.

Stayed here recently for the June long weekend. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and had many television stations. the hotel is very centrally located in the pokolbin area and close to all of the wineries. We found the hotel acceptable for out trip.

We hadn't stayed here for about 10 years, and booked two nights (including breakfast) on the Internet. The Reception and Wait staff were simply the very best that you would ever want to interact with, and they are the resort's finest assets. We booked a fairly basic room and it was clean, comfortable, quiet, and adequate in every way. Breakfasts ranged from excellent to so-so, depending on who was the cook that morning. Dinner also ranged the same, depending on whether the Executive Chef or trainee cooked your meal. Wait service (and Bar service) was also very good. In fact, we were having such a good time (loved the roaring log fire!) that we stayed an additional night. Overall there were a few hiccups, but nothing that prevents us from going back there soon. Looking forward to a return visit.

On a recent trip to Oz I stayed a couple of nights at this resort.
I rented a 2 bedroom apartment this was very well equipped and had 2 fully fitted en suite bedrooms.
There were balconies on both sides of the apartment and there were great views across the golf course I saw many interesting birds and lots of kangaroos.
I would recommend this resort if you want to stay in the Hunter valley.

Room Tip: The apartment was fully fitted with cooker and microwave best take supplies with you as buying goods...
