Stayed in a Vinyard Suite with a baby during Winter. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The gas fireplace was wonderful and we had a very toasty warm room in no time. The space is really large, so you feel very relaxed and not boxed in. The furnishings are lovely and very clean. I highly recommend the Il Cacciatore Restaurant, and if you're just wanting to rug up on the couch, every thing on the menu can be delivered. We ate in the restaurant for dinner but had our dessert delivered back to the room. Free wifi was very helpful. While there was a great little breakfast included, we chose the $20 hot breakfast option and were not disappointed. I will be staying here again - very happy!

Stayed June 2014, in Vineyard studio for $170 mid week. Conti b/fast in your room is included. Room is quite large with nice bed and pillows. Balcony overlooking vineyard is great. Il Cacciatore Restaurant is attached and was excellent. Bathroom was a good size but it has Soap Pumps and an average shower. This complex is one of the best in the area for staying, and I'll stay again. The negative would be the cancellation policy should you have to change plans.

We stayed at Hermitage Lodge in April, it was very good, staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had a lovely view over small vineyard. Contenential Breakfast was excellent, and we found it to be in a great location.

Me and my husband stayed in the Loft for two nights in May 2014. The room itself was clean and well looked after, however for a 4 1/2 star accommodation there weren't any toiletries apart from the soap and a built in shower gel dispenser. Continental breakfast which was inclusive in the price consisted of two small tabs of yogurt and two packets of muesli stored in the bar fridge. Room service did not replaced towels and the wifi connection was not working. Additionally the water pressure was extremely low and it took ages to fill up the spa. Little things that add to the experience were a bit disappointing but overall it was a good stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Hermitage Lodge for two days in April and wish we had stayed longer. The accomodation was excellent, the staff very helpful and the on site restaurant well worth a visit. We shall hopefully be back in Australia in a cou[ple of years and will plan a return viist into our trip.

We paid $250 a night. Unfortunately the king bed we asked for wasn't available, but we got the queen. Nice little suite. Sauna bath was a nice touch. Breakfast was already prepared and in the fridge the night before. A little old fashioned. Good location, next to Il Caccatore restaurante (note the restaurant does pizzas, but not for dine in)

I'd certainly recommend the Lodge to couples planning a romantic weekend in the Hunter. We took our bikes and found that a lot of the best wineries were within easy cycling distance, though beware! The roads are very busy.
The staff at the lodge were really helpful and friendly and our room was spotless. The bed was so huge you could sleep a family of six in it, but we were quite happy to be away without the kids for a weekend!
In the evening we dined at the on-site Italian restaurant and the meal was pretty good. I had expected a buffet breakfast in the restaurant dining room, but instead breakfast was a do it yourself affair stored in the small bar fridge. Actually it was pretty good and the hotel had even provided their own house musili. There was a swimming pool but we didn't use it.
All in all we'd highly recommend the lodge as a great place for couples staying in the Hunter for a few nights.
