Stayed in the vineyard suite for 2 nights. Close to all the wineries and amenities. Had a couple of issues with the package we booked but was attended to with the utmost professionalism. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is a must. Would stay again.

We had a delightful overnight stay at the Hermitage Lodge Pokolbin. It’s obvious this place is run by caring people who work hard to make their lodge work and are lucky to have loyal staff. It is set in the heart of the Hunter Valley vineyards, and the surrounds are very pretty.
Wishing to sample some of our favorite vineyards and to celebrate a birthday we chose this place because the restaurant; il Cacciatore has a great reputation.
We chose the most basic lodge room which was a reasonable price and we were not disappointed. The room has a standard motel layout, possibly revamped, but done with style. The bathroom was compact but functional with clean modern tiles and good fittings ---and the shower was 200% on the ones we battled with in the UK recently. In other words it was excellent.
We had a king bed, which was so comfortable and the room decor was stylish and with the best quality linen and curtains. All in all, very uplifting and pleasant to stay in.
As advertised, we had a continental breakfast which we enjoyed very much. It was all there in the fridge and the muffins and muesli were a healthy choice.
We dined at the in-house restaurant, il Cacciatore as previously mentioned and it was an experience we hope to repeat. The food was beautiful: the seafood bisque to die for! The restaurant had an Italian ambience, with pleasant music and the food appeared at good intervals.
The waitresses!... now these girls are what made the night special. They did all the right things that wait staff should do, but with such friendliness and personality. They helped it to be a special night. We hope to return and Noreen, the owner suggested that spring would be a nice time to visit, so I will mark it on my calendar!.

Room Tip: We had the Briar Ridge Room, and it was close to reception and dining.

Hermitage lodge is very well located, central to just about everything in the Pokolbin area of the Hunter valley.

We stayed in the 'Calais' room which isn't luxurious by any stretch, but it was clean and reasonably comfy. There are some other, bigger, newer rooms on the property which I suspect are a bit fancier.

The in room continental breakfast was simple but nice.

Upon arrival the fellow from reception showed us to our room and pointed out how to use everything. I actually liked that - it was a nice personal touch you don't get at bigger hotels.

The service was great, definitely consider staying here again and recommend it to all my friends. Room had high ceilings and a great view of the vineyard. Great location, very convenient, only 4 minutes from Hunter Valley Gardens and Tempus Two cellar door.

Room Tip: For my partner and I we chosen the studio deluxe room and it was perfect.

in quick words, really good and beautiful place to stay.
Stayed there in Feb/2013 and found it a really good location for a family stay. Also reasonable price!

Unfortunately haven't any picture but worthwhile checking it out....
