“Good value”
Reviewed 23 February 2014 via mobile

A cafe, just as the name says, so don't expect anything too fancy. But the food was good and well-priced, the staff were friendly and efficient, the outlook was pleasant .... unpretentious, with generous serves and delicious salads - and when you order a glass of wine at least you get more than a sip, unlike many other places in the Hunter.

“Friendly good value”
Reviewed 20 January 2014 via mobile

Really hungry when we arrived at Hunter Valley and this was first place we found, really busy lots of bus tours in, even private tours there. Good choice on menu well priced. Good sized portions and very tasty really glad we stopped here. The staff were really friendly and service times were good despite the large number of people, staff didn't seem harassed at all answering the same questions over and over, we weren't hurried at all even though they were fully booked, water on table almost instantly and well timed are you ready yet. Yes it's a little more cafe than some places but that wasn't an issue, good food, good price, excellent staff and tasting room right next door who could ask for more?

“No atmosphere, adequate food”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

I saw good reviews of the Log Press Cafe so made sure were were nearby at lunchtime while driving around the area. It's hard to understand the enthusiastic comments made by others. The cafe is okay if you are hungry and need to "refuel" but that's all. It had no more atmosphere than a truck stop. There was no outdoor seating, no views. The food was plain and adequate although a bit expensive for what it was. There were two choices for vegetarians-frittata or salad. The only really good part was that the lady who served us made the cakes herself and they looked very good, so it would be a better place for morning or afternoon tea rather than lunch.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay .
Thank you for your review.
I have taken into consideration about having other vegetarian options and have added some new items to the menu.
We are more than happy to create a special meal for anyone, if they would like something other than our 25 options on our menu.
I am so sorry that you feel that we look like a "truck stop", I have been looking into making some changes with the owner of the building to create a better atmosphere and can hopefully see you again.
We do have outdoor seating to the right of the building as you enter, that has been there for 3 years now with umbrella's,wind barriers, and can seat up to 20 people in that area, but also have picnic tables all around our grass area with beautiful views of the valley that can seat between 4-20 people at a time.
Some people do miss our seats out the front, but I can promise you they have been there since November 2011.
If you have any queries or other suggestions or would even like to make a booking, please feel free to contact me via email- grinegd@hotmail.com as we have specials that change daily and always have extra vegetarian options. Thank you so much for your feedback, I really do appreciate all comments so our team can do our best to improve our food and service in the future.
Let me offer you and a friend a complimentary dessert if you would like to dine with us again.
Many Thanks and Kind Regards
Georgina

“Good Morning Tea Option”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

On our recent visit to the Hunter Valley, we had morning tea at The Log Press. Our coffees and gluten-free passionfruit and apple cake were very good. The cafe was baked on the premises and was a geberous serving (enough for two to share). A good start to a day of wine tasting.
