“Heaven among the vines”

We stayed with a group at this beautiful guest house. Some of the group stayed in the guest rooms and some stayed in the cottage - we were all thrilled with our accommodation. As soon as we stepped out of the car I knew it would be special. Gorgeous white roses lined the path to our rooms. Mornings are a delight to wake up to and time to explore the beautiful gardens. There are plenty of lovely areas to sit as a couple or a group. Breakfast was however the highlight of the morning. Walking into the breakfast room and seeing the breakfast table laden with home made quiche, corn bread, jams and chutneys. Not to mention poached fruit, museli, yoghurt, croissants, juice tea and coffee. Othere guests have mentioned the breakfasts however you have to see them to fully appreciate them. Just what you need before a morning or wine tasting. Peter and Carol are exceptional hosts. They helped us organise tables at restaurants and also with some wine pick ups. THe cottage was very comfortable with a lovely fireplace and scented candles for our use. Don't look any further - this place has it all. We are already planning our next stay. Can't wait!!!

Room Tip: I would say all the rooms are wonderful as this is a very quite location and set well back from the...

We were there for two nights, but it only took a few minutes to fall in love with the place. Walking down the path lined with gorgeous white rose bushes to the welcoming front door gave us a a taste of what was to come. Impeccable, beautifully decorated rooms, a bottle of wine and a cheese plate waiting for us. Yummy brownies the next day. Breakfast was out of this world. Freshly baked breakfast cakes, breads and quiches. Homemade jams and chutneys. Croissants, muesli, yoghurt and lots of fresh fruit. Charcuterie plates, cheeses and the special baked pears. All that and more. Sitting by the large windows overlooking the beautiful yard was a great way to start the day.
The property is in the midst of Hunter Vally and a great location for wine tours and fine dining.
I can't say enough about our hosts Carol and Peter. We came as strangers and left as friends. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the region. Suggesting vineyards and restaurants and just having a chat. Peter even took us out in his cars to look for kangaroos. We stayed in B&B's all over the world and this was our favorite by far. Thanks Peter and Carol. We will be back.

We loved our stay at Thistle Hill Guesthouse.
We felt welcomed, pampered and spoilt!
Carol and Richard looked after us so well and the attention to detail was very impressive.
This is an elegant and tasteful B&B, with spacious and beautifully decorated rooms.
The surroundings are stunning, and there is a lovely pool and a separate and elegant breakfast room.
The gourmet continental breakfast was generous, fresh and beautifully presented.
We dined at "Botanical" restaurant, the night of our stay, which is only 500 metres or so, from Thistle Hill and this was fantastic...highly recommended!

We chose this property as part of a birthday celebration trip, based on the trip advisor reviews and it was exactly as described and expected.
Set in a quiet, beautiful location, our room was perfectly appointed, clean, with everything we could need for an overnight stay. Welcomed by Carol, our room was Modern, bright, good size and comfortable. We had a nice shower room, with toiletries provided. Location was perfect, sleep quality excellent and the breakfast - gourmet continental - made a lovely change from traditional cooked. The breakfast lounge is well appointed, by the pool overlooking the small lake and vineyard. Definitely a place we will visit again. The touches like the scented candle, fresh milk for cups of tea and coffee and brownies made it special and memorable.

Room Tip: Queen room at the back of the property on the corner so bright and airy with lots of windows.

I know it sounds strange to start by saying that the room was exactly as it was on the website(except bigger), but we did have our disappoinments during our six weeks in Ausralia.

wonderfull room,incredible breakfast, perfect locacion.

when we left they started renovating the bathrooms (which were okei, though a bit basic) and so hopefully next time the experience will be even better, if possible.

However I will have the extra problem of deciding whether to choose a room (because of that incredible breakfast) or the cottage which was one of the most marvelous I have seen¡!

Room Tip: a corner room is more quiet eventhough we heard nothing from our neighbours

Bushes of lush white roses line the path to this beautiful B&B. Our room was spotless, modern and elegant, and we loved the thoughtful little touches such as brownies (very welcome after the drive from Sydney), fresh milk for our tea and coffee, and the lovely scented candle. As we arrived on a Monday, not realizing many restaurants weren't open, Carol kindly made reservations for us at Mojo's that evening. Charlie, the resident cat, was the only one that could out-chic the decor. Do not miss the wonderful spread of breakfast that is provided. We were thoroughly spoilt during our stay and would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Hunter Valley.

This guest house is often booked out which tells you why it rates so highly. It is beautifully appointed and the grounds and gardens are well maintained. The rooms are quiet, tastefully decorated, clean and very comfortable. There were some lovely touches with a bottle of wine and a cheese plate on arrival and morning tea the next day. The continental breakfast was full of lovely home made treats. The hosts were friendly, accommodating and keen to please. We will definitely return.
