Stayed here for 2 nights in January. Wish we could have stayed longer. Bobby was brilliant in making us feel welcome and helping plan our time in the Hunter valley. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Many great little touches that make the stay extra special. Really couldn't have asked for any more........ thanks Bobby.

What more can be said that hasn't already been covered? Splinters Guest House is a welcome retreat. We stayed 3 wonderful nights and wished that it could have been longer.

The rooms are clean and very comfortable, and it is the little things like the complimentary fruit and cheese platter and bottle of wine that really make a difference.

Breakfast on the verandah was always a lovely affair, and the mini golfing green was a big hit with my husband.

Splinters is located just a short drive from the main wineries and Hunter Valley Gardens, but it's far enough away where it doesn't feel too overcrowded and touristy!

Two big thumbs up!

We stayed for 2 days at Splinters Guest House. It is well located and easy to find.
Bobbie is an excellent hostess who gives outstanding service. Our room was very clean, well appointed and roomy. On arrival we had chocolates, cheese, a small bottle of white wine, crackers and olives. Complimentary port is also available.

Gardens and grounds are well maintained and the salt water swimming pool is great for swimming. The communal guest lounge has a large screen television, with ample DVD's as well as varied reading material. The massage chair is a delight.

The only disadvantages of this property are patchy mobile coverage and slow internet connection. Shower water pressure is variable, sometimes being normal other times just a trickle. The property does not have a mains water supply.

Breakfast is a deluxe continental with croissants, fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, toast, cereals and coffee or tea. Each day Bobbie varies things slightly with changes to baked items.

An outdoor babrbecue is also available for guest use.The accommodation is very professionally run and there's well set up 2 bedroom cottages also on the property.

Just returned from 3 days at Splinters Guest House in the Hunter Valley and if you want great accomodations this is the place to stay. Great location, very clean well maintained rooms, and the best innkeeper to help plan your stay in the Hunter Valley. We had the two bedroom/ two bath guest house which would be terrific for a family or two couples. Can't wait to return. Jeff R.

We chose this place based on the reviews read on this website, and it was even better than we thought. Bobby is just as nice and helpful as mentioned by previous guests; the grounds are large, very well maintained, quiet and beautiful; it is in the heart of the wine country, you even have interesting wineries at walking distance (and kangaroo sightings too!). We stayed in the Vines room, which is more like a little house, with two stories, two bedrooms and two bath, a private barbecue and state of the art kitchen with nice appliances like espresso machine. There's nothing I can think of that would make our stay better than it was.

From the moment we arrived until the time we left, Bobby made us feel special. From her warm greeting, to advice about where to have dinner and which wineries to visit to give a good cross section of Hunter wines, nothing was too much trouble for Bobby. The grounds are excellent, the rooms are beautiful. Sitting on the verandah after a long drive and taking in the views while sipping wine and experiencing Bobbys cheese/olive platter you realise that you really are experiencing a piece of paradise. However what really makes this place standout is that right from the very beginning Bobby and Bill make you feel like you are family , not just visitors to the region. We will definately be coming back with friends. Thanks Bobby/Bill for the fantastic experience.

Before we could even get out of the car Bobby had come out to greet us, giving our first indication of the excellent service we could expect. The room was perfect in every way, even providing insect repellent. Bobby was really helpful and the wine tour that she had booked for us was brilliant. We opted to 'dine in' with the various wines and cheeses that we had purchased and Bobby provided us with plates and cutlery to do so. In the morning we had breakfast on the veranda and were served with a variety of fruits, pastries etc.

All in all the only negative is that we would have liked to have stayed longer!
