“Main course of duck disappointing while fish dish good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

We went to Amanda's for dinner on a Monday night and ordered bread rolls (the heat up type you buy at the major supermarkets), a fish dish and the duck confit Maryland with a side of steamed greens. The fish dish was great with lovely asparagus and potato wedges with aioli. The duck dish was very disappointing though, with an overly sweet sauce and not re- heated through properly. The middle part of the duck was cold, dry, stringy and tasteless thus the sweet sauce to try and mask this. The worst duck my wife has ever had at a restaurant.

“Fell flat on the main course”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

Recent visit with another two couples. Lovely ambience and a thoughtful and exciting menu. Came on a recommendation and the meal started well with the entrees, extra charge for bread rolls was a bit unexpected. However most of us thought our mains were a bit of a let down. No real complaints and they were nice but didn't have the 'hit' the entrees did. However I would still recommend despite the mixed reviews.

“Memorable!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

The Hunter Valley continues to improve in its delivery of good dining experiences and Amanda's is certainly up there with the best of them. Five of us lunched there (the restaurant was full) and would certainly recommend it as one of the better places to try on a visit to the region.

“Great dining experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the whole dining experience. The food was beautiful and reasonable sized serves. The wait staff were very attentive -giving us a taste of the wines we were deciding between and modifying one of the desserts for us.nothing was too much trouble.the restaurant was fairly full however it seemed that everyone got the attention they required. Will return

“Not what it's hyped up to be”

Just okay, the location was far from everywhere and the view was poor.
The food was nice and the service was good.
