Stayed here for a long weekend over the 27-29 June 2014. Perfect location for exploring the Hunter - very central to many wineries, restaurants and The Hunter Valley Chocolate shop. It's almost like its own little hub with a restaurant, grocery store, cheese shop, chocolate shop and wine shop all out front of the accommodation - very handy!

We didn't try the restaurant, but did purchase a few goodies from The Smelly Cheese Shop and Wine Outlet. Staff there were great, offering advice and handy tips.

The room was very spacious, it was great having our own lounge area where we could set-up for an afternoon antipasto plate and a few glasses of wine. Only negative was the shower lacked pressure, minor detail for a short stay.

The staff were very friendly too, I would highly recommend this place and will be staying here again on future Hunter trips.

Hi MelMair

Thank you for your positive review of Pokolbin Village Accommodation. Our location certainly is second to none in the Hunter Valley.

Whilst we do use environmentally friendly shower heads I have passed your comment onto Maintenance to ensure that there is no water pressure issues within the rooms.

We look forward to once again welcoming you to Pokolbin Village in the future!

Tried to obtain other hotels for the weekend and this was the only one in the price range to suit us all. From the time of booking plus other calls and plus the check in, we could not have been happier as the staff were A1. Nothing was a problem. The rooms were well appointed, just lacking a microwave, and thanks to the last guest that borrowed the hair dryer, all was good. The beds comfy and thankfully, a soft pillow. Very quiet location and worth a stay. PS Don't forget to buy the breakfast vouchers, value for money.

Thank you for review! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and found our location quiet and our staff accommodating. Our apologies for not having a hair-dryer in your room. This certainly should have been picked up by our housekeeping team upon preparing your room and has been raised with the Housekeeping Manager.

Spacious room with huge living room and a balcony. Comfortable bed.
They have a swimming pool but we didn't use it.
The service at the restaurant where you can have breakfast was a bit slow.
Great location , close to the wineries and Chocolate factories in the Hunter valley.
Reception stuff was very nice, Free WiFi at Reception area.

Room Tip: We got the room behind the reception so we enjoyed the free WiFi in our room. Otherwise the free WiF...

We thank you for posting a review of your recent stay with us at Pokolbin Village.

The on-site restaurant Vittorio's is not part of Pokolbin Village Accommodation direct however we will pass this onto the owners for their consideration.

We are also aiming to roll out wifi to be accessible not only in public areas, as it is now, but also to be available in all rooms.

Thank you

stayed here for 2 nights in Feb over the weekend. The cabins are cute and cosy, location is close to all wineries, it’s great for a getaway.
Negative would be that their restaurant had limited food options and there opening times seemed infrequent.
Would definitely stay here again, has a chocolate and cheese shop which was fantastic!

Stayed with 2 friends and the accommodation was fine. Nothing fancy but comfortable. Only concern was the damp (?) smell on entering the room. It didn't bother us once in the room but there was a definite odour on entering the room

The reception staff were lovely!! Very helpful and smiley!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review about your recent stay at Pokolbin Village. In regards to the smell in the room we believe this may not have been a 'damp' smell however the smell of new carpet as our rooms have had new carpet laid recently.

All-in-all a great stay! Central location with easy access to local vineyards, restaurants and general store. Rooms very comfortable and secluded. Only down-side would be a poor shower...but a small complaint really.

Would recommend to anyone traveling to the Hunter Valley! A++

We stayed in a Deluxe Queen suite #209 for 2 nights. Staff were helpful over the phone at the time of booking and whilst we were here. Room was clean, spacious, and came with a pull out sofa bed for my kids to sleep on. We were on holidays with another family and also had a connecting door between rooms as they stayed in the room next door. Wasn't charged for the kids as they were under 5 years which worked out well for us. (But was told if kids were over 5 years & over would be charged an additional fee). Room was over looking pool, was serviced & cleaned daily and a short walk across to the village's shops. Car park is gravel and there is a small parking lot on one side of the rooms which was mostly full most of the time, but they do have more parking on the back of the rooms where you can see and walk through to reception. Overall very good value for the price we paid and considering the location it was perfect for a weekend away!
