I love spending time at Billabong Wildlife Park, sometimes alone but I always take my visitors to Port Macquarie as it's a great day out at a reasonable price. Educational talks on koala's, monkeys, spotted quolls, fairy penguins, Shrek the crocodile and the beautiful snow leopards. Kiddies can pat the koalas or hand feed the kangaroo's and wallabies and spend time in the large enclosure. There is a nocturnal house with wombats (can watch the wombat sleeping in his burrow thru the glass), flying foxes, possums among other animals. A reptile house with snakes, lizards and terrapins...lots of interesting birdlife, emus, cassowary's and peacocks. I love to watch the monkey's antics and the magnificent dingoes. There are also red panda's as a new addition. The park was a bit run down from the previous owners but the family that have taken it on in the last few years have a lot of vision, energy and have really built it up again. Spend a morning, afternoon or the whole day there and I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed . Take a picnic or food and beverages available for purchase there.
