“Nothing special”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

Some mixed reviews about staying here. On the positives, the location was good, apartment was decent size and the pool was nice.
On the negatives, it just felt like no extra effort was made to make the stay feel special. The alarm clocks were not set, the lamps were not plugged in and the cleanliness was very basic. The spa is only heated in the afternoon so if you want to use in the morning it is too cold.
There is a lot of opportunity to turn this into a great place but it is just not there currently.

Room Tip: No lifts in the place so would recommend a low floor.

Dear kgb668,

Thank you for taking the time to review the property.

I have only taken over from the previous management in the last 2 weeks and i will be taking all suggestions and feedback on board to improve the resort. I agree with your comments about it being able to be a great place and i aim to work hard to get it to that level.

We hope we can welcome you back in the future,

Warm Regards,

Amy Darling-Filby

The room we stayed in was a studio room- no view, but a well appointed room. Had a full kitchenette which we loved. The bathroom was a bit mouldy, but otherwise ok. Great location, easy to get everywhere. The pool and BBQ area looked nice- we didn't use it, but would be great for families. The woman at reception was not overly friendly- we felt like we'd interrupted her favourite tv show or something- she was very un-enthusiastic. Hotel has free wi-fi, but you have to ask. STill we had a nice stay in Port, and it's good value for money.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a view

The rudest staff/owners I have ever come across. As a large group of over 20 people, we stayed for 5 weeks, it seemed like it was a hinderance being there. They made a lot of money from us and treated all of us like peasants. Everything was too hard for them. The rudest people ever. No customer service skills whatsoever, did not make us feel welcome at all. Very nice place, very rude staff!!!

Reception has no enthusiasm. mould and dirty in the bathroom. the tap over the bath was lose. the view from the spa was the washing machine, dryer, mop and broom. There was a shower curtain not a screen. dusty on fittings. marks on walls. discolored switch covers. Screen doors need to be lifted to shut. plastic broken on balcony door. dirty windows. Have to remove your own rubbish at the end of your stay. no way is this 4 star.

Stayed at the Beachcomber Resort on a business stay for four consecutive weeks monday - friday. Easy booking and brilliant price offered from the start. Each 5 day block my room changed but each time had a two bedroom apartment (with one of the bedrooms locked due to only myself staying). Basic serviced apartment...Full kitchen, comfortable lounge room, 2 balconies and clothes wash / dry facilities in room. A perfect location... easy walk into the twon centre or the East Port Bowls Club that has excellent meals and prices if feel like a night away from cooking. The facilties also include large pool area and 2 x Gazebo's with very clear BBQ area with stocked utensils, plates etc. Each Gazebo area easily hold 8-10 people having a bbq which we did. Beaches are literally across the road and walking / riding / fitness paths located along the beach fronts for kilometers. Lockup undercover parking with easy access to rooms. All up a great business stay but would also suit couples, families and multiple families wanting to holiday together. Will stay here whenever in Port Macquarie for business or personal travel!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have a great view! Although all calcoies can view beach and beyond.

We spent only one night here this past weekend and we wish it could have been longer. We will definately stay again for longer next time. A great 2 bedroom apartment with everything we needed for the night (and for longer stays as well). Everything was lovely and clean. Nice big bedrooms and plenty of storage. The deep corner bath was a great cause for excitement for our 3 year old daughter. Washing machine and dryer in the room would be handy for longer stays. Beautiful pool and bbq areas. grounds are well maintained. Close to everything. Just a walk accross the road to a lovely kids playground and the beach. Not too far to the main part of town, though with our daughter it was too far to walk, but there is restaurants etc closer by if you don't want top drive.
Thank you for a lovely night away. Can't wait for a longer stay next time.
