First-world visitors beware: the internet options in this place are shocking, even for Australia. Forget about streaming videos or music, speaking to friends or relatives on Skype, or posting your photos/videos to YouTube or Flickr etc. It just won't work.

Save your money and make do with the limited speeds available through your phone — I promise it'll be faster and cheaper, even at international data-roaming prices. The Jimojo service offers literally zero advantages over this option. At least you can tether multiple devices to your smartphone — whereas Jimojo can only handle ONE device at a time, and often fewer than that.

Otherwise this place is perfect. The apartments are spacious and well located, with wonderful balconies and awesome views. It's just a shame they don't cater to the iPhone generation.

Staying here at apartment 903 Northpoint at the moment for the 3rd time. This 1,2 or 3 bedroom unit never fails to impress. This apartment provides an ever changing view over the Hastings River and the beyond hinterland with expansive unrestricted water views up on the 9th floor. Be prepared to experience amazing colour hues and sunsets.

Big plasma in open plan lounge area with blue-ray player. Well equipped kitchen with what looks like a new Bosch dishwasher that is quite and cleans dishes well, with a large fridge to hold all your necessary beverages and food. Modern furniture and tastefully appointed with motel style bedding - feels fresh, clean and sanitized to get into. No bedspreads and heavy blankets that in the back of your mind you wonder "when were they last washed".

Very clean well maintained unit. Clean glass on windows and balconies to take in the action happening outside on the water and town green.

Very comfortable king size bed in main with walk in robe and ensuite with granite benches in both bathrooms and kitchen. Bath in main with separate showers (I hate having a shower in a bath!) Also decent size plasma in main bedroom on wall. Sarah provides excellent service at reception.

We have been coming to Port Macquarie for holidays all our lives and have stayed at most of the accommodation here over the years. In our opinion the main advantage of this unit is its position. As well as all the amenities the others have you can leave the car in the free parking space and it is a flat walk to almost everything. Restaurants, icecream, groceries, retail therapy, movies, play equipment, beach, a walk or fish along the break wall, a cruise or jet boat ride, - the lot. This apartment is also quiet. It is located off the main road so there is not much traffic noise and because it is on the top floor at the side there is no lift noise and virtually no corridor traffic.

PS Don't forget to pack the scooters for the kids. There is any excellent skate park at the end of the breakwall as well.

We were told we had been booked into a high floor with water views.
We were on level 6 with what I believe the spin doctors would call water glimpses.
Definitely good views of the apartment black next door and the trees in the caravan park.
We had a three bedroom apartment for $430 per night, we have paid a lot more and a lot less for accommodation in the past.
We found the size of the apartment disappointing and the furnishings left over from the 80s.
The common areas could use a good clean and waiting for the lift became part of the family entertainment.
The sliding doors leading to the balcony could only be opened by me as they were jamming up and in desperate need of repairs. Based on the slamming noise of other apartment doors it was a common problem in the building.
The entire place needs a refurbishment and new furnishings to justify the price.
If you like signs telling you what to do and how much they will charge you if you don't do it you will enjoy the literature posted in the lift, behind your door in the games room etc.
This place was not for us and I would try somewhere else next time.

OK, like most reviews on trip advisor this is probably a little subjective. I acknowledge that given we'd just spent a week on level 54 of Q1 in Surfers, we might have a different view of "luxurious", which is how these apartments market themselves. In my view at best they can be described as comfortable. The furnishings were tired: faded framed prints on the walls, yellowing curtains, the coffee table was covered in marks, lounge suite on last legs etc - you get the picture.
What really was the worst 'tho was the price we paid, which was almost the same as what we'd paid for Q1 - hence the comparison at the start of this review.
Comfortable, but don't expect luxury or value for money.

Currently staying in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 9th floor which is very spacious and comfortable. The balcony is huge and has a recessed area for the table and 4 chairs which is more secluded from the elements. The view is spectacular on the eastern side facing the ocean and entry to the lake. Port Central shopping mall is over the road and you are within an easy walk to all of the shops and restaurants in the main part of town.

Room Tip: Tip. In the hotter months stay on the eastern side facing the ocean or you will bake in the afternoo...

Stayed here for three nights on eighth floor in a 2 bedroom apartment converted into a one bedroom. The room faced the swimming pool and had great views out to the north beach and inlet. The balcony was a good size to relax on. The room was a good size in the lounge- dining and the kitchen was also big enough and had every thing you need. Bedroom was ok but found the bed to be a bit too standard and firm but not unbareable. The location is in a good spot as it is only a short walk to shops ,restaurants and cinema etc, also a nice place to walk around in the sunset to the inlet. Staff were all friendly and made booking and check in etc easy. Room was clean and well maintained.

Room Tip: The 3 bedroom apartments also look very roomy, so families would have plenty of room not to get unde...
