A good country stay value plus nice attention to service in both bars and restaurant. Restaurant has a great chef wine is correctly priced bloody good I say just the rooms and bathroom could do with an upgrade

What a grand old pub she is! We visited during the music festival during a very uncomfortable hot spell. Only there for a lunch on a steamy day we weren't up for the heavier pub food which looked pretty good. Lacking in a choice of light salads or unfried food, we ordered a Caesar salad which was an over flowing plate of generous proportions, but seriously lacking in flavor and very dry. We asked for some more dressing, but to no avail. Unfortunate choice on our behalf as the wine list is decent and all other dishes looked pretty good. Put it down to the heat. We shall return as the bistro is light and breezy with a nice beer garden out the back.
