I loved the tranquility and peace of this place. They only thing that puzzled me was the lack of international visitors in the guestbook. Given it is on the Sydney- brisbane drive that so many visitors do now, it would be the perfect place to break the trip and get a real taste of the Aussie bush. We had wallabies right out the window every morning, the birdlife was active too.
WE had a weekend in The Sanctuary and despite living in a rural paradise ourselves it was just so nice to have the little luxuries and indlgences for a quiet romantic weekend wedding anniversary. My husband booked the romance package, the flowers were stunning, the fluffy robes a nice touch, the breakfast and cheese and bikkie package were good too. I highly reccommend this place.

I spent the weekend with 20 other people enjoying the peace and tranquility of Clarendon Forest Retreat. The property is beautiful, and very nice to explore. We shared 3 cottages and found everything we needed to make our yoga retreat stress free. The bedrooms were large and clean with nice comfy beds. We shared a bathroom with 6 other guests and it too, was large and clean. There were plenty of spots to be alone or in a group. Using the Jacuzzi at night alone watching the stars above was a personal highlight.
The very few negative things about Clarendon is the 5km gravel road approach was very dusty due to no rain, and the decking boards on the veranda need to be fixed.
Our whole group had a magical time and would love to come back and do it all again maybe next year.

We stayed in Hideaway - a beautiful two bedroom superbly appointed cottage. The property owner's gorgeous big fluffy dog loved us and our small fluffy shitzu/Maltese so much she spent the night with us. The outlook from the lounge living and dining area was panoramic looking out over the pond/lake even saw some wallabies. The whole house was beautifully fitted out. We want to come back and bring our family and friends but are also tempted to keep this fabulous place a secret. Lovely hosts Wendy and Peter.

Room Tip: All the cottages are lovely for different reasons.

I recently hired two houses and ran a retreat for 12 people at CFR. It was a truly amazing experience, the accommodation spacious, great facilities and really clean and luxurious. The grounds themselves were perfect for walking and brilliant wildlife and scenery. Peter and family were so accommodating to deal with they were flexible over our departure times and arranged horse riding for our guests. I will definitely be going back for a stay and to run a retreat there and would recommend others two as well.

What a beautiful place! For our 28 year anniversary My husband and I stayed in the quaintest little cottage called "The Sanctuary "
Well it was ideally very private, fully self contained and very clean
We stayed for the 5 night package, which is very affordable considering what you get
We had the horses outside our door also the owners two dogs Banjo and Mistral to keep as company
Peter the manager and his wife Wendy are the perfect hosts
We just kicked back relaxed took a few bushwalks had a game of tennis and looked forward to the afternoon to just take in the beautiful surroundings on our deck with a glass of wine or 2
Not to mention the indoor spa bliss
Peter the manager gave us the keys to look at "The Chapel" and "The Hideaway" after seeing both it would be hard to pick our next favourite.. as both were special in different ways
The Chapel is a little bigger than The Sanctuary, with a heart shaped spa. Maybe perfect for a honeymoon . But we were really impressed with the Hideaway, absolutely beautiful ! views to die for. More hidden away as the name suggests
More modern almost like a rocky mountain cabin .Would be ideal for two couples . As we loved it so much we think" The Hideaway " will be our next getaway with another couple
I hope whoever reads my review will go ahead and book this wonderful place

Room Tip: For a romantic escape The Sanctuary as it is a bit cheaper than The Chapel also it is more private
